"Can I please get a small order of Mac and cheese, 4 chicken tenders, a large fruit bowl and a chicken ceaser salad." I said into the hotel phone.
"Anything to drink?" The lady taking my order asked.
"Just 2 bottles of water please." I replied
"And Apple juice pleaseeeee." Avai yelled from the bathroom.
I slightly rolled my eyes. "And a kids apple juice please."
I finished putting in the room service order and walked to the bathroom.
Avia was in the bathtub taking her bath. We spent all afternoon at August's Airbnb and they were in the pool all day.
"You ready to get out?" Sitting on the edge of the tub.
"Noo" she whined
"Our foods gonna be here soon, come on baby" I said unplugging the drain stopper.
I turned on the water and rinsed her off before wrapping her on her towel.
Once I go her dressed, we watched tv while we waited for our food.
A couple minutes later the food arrived and I let Avai eat while I went in to take a shower.
Since today was a long day of travel from New York to Texas, I decided to take a bath instead.
I got settled and relaxed in the bath when I heard Avia talking from the room.
"Daddy remember when we raced in the pool today & I won?"
She carried on her conversation with August for a little bit before I heard her coming into the bathroom and standing next to the tub I was in with her iPad in hand.
I swear this little girl gives me no privacy.
"Where ya mom at?" I heard August say.
"She's in the bath tub" Avia answered.
"Lemme see, turn ya camera around" August said.
"Avia, NO!" I yelled
"Don't listen to her babygirl listen to me. Turn ya camera around" August said as I lowkey panicked looking around for a towel.
"August I swear to god! Don't listen to him, go wait for me in the room." I said to Avia
She stood there looking between August on her iPad and me.
"Turn it around baby girl." August said again
Before I could say anything else Avia had the camera pointed at me.
"Say hi mommy!!" She smiled holding up her ipad.
I quickly used my hand to cover myself as August busted out laughing.
Avai started laughing with him as I just sat in the tub with one hand on my bottom half and one hand on my top.
I lifted my hand and splashed Avai with water making her scream and run out of the bathroom. I could hear her and August laughing still.
I quickly hurried up and finished my bath.
After getting dressed I went and ate my salad.
By the time I finished eating, Avia was off the phone with August and already asleep in our king size bed.
I cleaned up, tucked her in and laid down next to her.
I was almost about to fall asleep when my phone vibrated next to me on the night stand.
I reached over and saw August calling me.
"Hello" I spoke softly.
"My bad, did I wake you." He said, I could hear the sleep in his voice.
"No you're fine, what's up?" I asked
"Thanks for the lil show earlier" he laughed causing me to roll my eyes.
"Is that why you called me? You're so annoying" I said
"Relax, it's not like I never seen you naked before" he said laughing
"Good bye August." I said getting ready to put my phone down.
"Wait... I just wanted to say thank you....for bring Avia all the way here. I'm really sorry for all the messy shit I got y'all in. And I know you still think I'm bullshitting but I'm ready to do whatever it takes to prove myself."
Not gonna lie, it feels good hearing that from him.
"You don't owe me anything August. You don't have to prove anything to me." I replied
"I still want us to be on good terms, ya know?" He said again "we gotta do this co parenting shit right."
"We are, I don't wanna stand in the way of your relationship with your daughter. But then again, I'm also gonna do whatever i think it best for her." I said
"I understand....I'm still tryna figure it all out. You been had all that time to practice all this parenting shit. I'm still learning." He said
"I know" "I said "And you're doing great so far"
"Thanks ma" he said "I gotta ask you one more thing"
"What is it?" I said getting comfortable in the bed.
"Come to my show tomorrow, and bring Avia? I wanna bring her out on stage with me." He said, I could hear the seriousness in his voice.
I sighed "you really think that a good idea?"
"Why not" he replied, I think it's time. The media already did what they wanted with the story lines, we might as well take control"
I sighed again " I don't think your show id the best place for our 4 year old."
"You act like I'm done rapping nigga." He said "my fans ain't even like that. We'll get her some headphones to protect her ears, and y'all can stay in my dressing room until it time."
"I don't know how she's gonna take the whole being on stage thing" I said plainly
"Alright now you just looking for excuses. This my seed, she loves the stage. Just like she does in her dance recital, she gets it from her daddy." He said confidently
"Okay now you're pushing it." I laughed "she definitely gets that from me, don't play yourself like that you know you can't dance"
"Whatever, you know she's a star like her dad." He joked "so it's a yes?"
I thought for a second, "how about I bring her backstage for a little bit and then we'll let her decide if she wanna come out or not, she don't need to be there the whole time ."
"Thats fair." He said
"Plus you be bumping and grinding all over that damn stage, she don't need to be around that." I added "You know your fans be ready to risk it all for your skinny ass" I laughed
"Don't be mad because a nigga got it like that. I can't keep them off me. He said
"Bye September, stop playing on my phone I said.
He laughed "Good night, I'll have my manager send you the details in the morning."
"Good night" I hung up the phone and caught myself smiling.
