A New Day

I woke up feeling happy and nervous. I was nervous because I had to see my professor today and I was happy because this week was almost over.

It was Thursday morning and Me and Nysha were getting ready for psychology. We woke up early so we could get breakfast. We wanted to have fresh minds and full stomachs before class.

After we finished breakfast we went to class and sat in the same places as usual. We talked awhile before the professor came in. And everyone went quite so the professor could speak.

"Good morning class. Hope you guys are having a good Thursday morning. Today we will talk about about the human mind and how it operates." He said with dominance.

As professor Mann begun to teach we made eye contact and he gave me a genuine smile. I gave him one back because why not. The professor kept making eye contact with me as the class went on, I didn't think much of it because I thought my eyes could be playing tricks on me.

Once the class was dismissed professor Mann asked me to stay after. I told Nysha i'll meet her after my math class and then she went on to her next class.

"Why do he keep wanting to see me after class?" I wonder with Curiosity.

Once everyone exited the class I went closer to the professor so we could talk.

"I'm sorry for my actions on Tuesday Ms. Williams, it was very unprofessional of me and professor Leah to act like that." He actually sounded sorry for his actions, but I didn't know why he was making such a big deal about it.

"It's okay. It wasn't a big deal to me" I said nonchalantly.

"Well I still need to apologize and show sincerity, but you are dismissed now, that's all I had to say."

"Before I go I have a question"

He furrowed his brow and tilted his head to show that he was listening. You could tell he was anxious to see what I was going to say. "Ask away Ms. Williams"

"Are you Hispanic? Because I heard you speaking Spanish on Tuesday and I wasn't sure if you were Hispanic or not." I said quickly because I was nervous what he might say.

He let out a laugh and said "No I'm not Hispanic but my friend Mr. Leah is. I learned Spanish in high school, so that's why I'm fluent in it."

"Oh okay. And before I go I have another question." I didn't know if he was annoyed at me for asking questions or intrigued.

"Okay ask."

"Why do you keep staring at me in class?" I was nervous that he would deny what I said and tell me to get out.

"Is it a crime to look at a beautiful young women." He said with a sly smirk on his face.

I blushed at his answer. I know it was inappropriate for my professor to talk to me like this, but it felt good. His words made me shiver and gave me confidence.

"No, It's not a crime. I just wanted to know."

"Well if that's all your questions I think you should go to your next class. If my watch is right you have 6 minutes to get to class."

"Okay see you later Professor Mann." I said with a smile from ear to ear.

"See you later Ms. Williams."

I walked out of his class with a feeling I couldn't explain, but I knew I shouldn't feel this way about my professor. I knew I couldn't say anything about this feeling.

I got to Professor Leah class just in time. When I sat down he was ready to teach. When I was getting settled in the class Joshua slid towards me to talk. I didn't want to talk to him right now, but it looks like I had no other choice.

"Hey bud, you were almost late to class where were you?" He whispered so he wouldn't disturb the class. I didn't really need to pay attention to class right now because I understood everything, but I didn't want my attention on Joshua.

"Yeah...I had to get some stuff straight with my professor."

"Oh is everything good." He wondered.

"Yeah everything good now."

"Hey after class can we talk?" You could tell he was nervous to ask that.

"Ummm sure" I said with no clue to what I was saying yes to.

Once I said 'sure' Joshua attention went back to professor Leah and so did mines.

The class was easy in my opinion but it was only the first week of school, so I knew things were going to get harder. When the class was over I quickly got up so I could avoid Joshua, but Joshua was just as quick as me.

"Thea we still need to talk. Is right now good?"

"Yeah" I said even though I wanted to leave.

"I was wondering if I could take you on a date tomorrow?"

My eyes widen in shock, I did not expect him to ask me out. On one hand I wanted to say no because I don't like him like that and I find him creepy. On the other hand I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I think he could tell I was hesitant with my answer because it took me a few seconds to say a word.

"Umm sure" I knew instantly I was going to regret this.

"Okay I'll tell you the details tomorrow. See you later." He said with excitement.

As I rethink my decision I slowly walked the halls of the school. Not looking I bumped into something, more like someone. Not knowing it was professor Mann.

"This is a nice surprise. I actually needed to talk to you Ms. Williams."

"You do?" I was confused on why he needed to talk to me.

"Yeah me and professor Leah need to have a conversation with you. Are you free?"

"Yeah. I just need to text my friend real quick."

"Okay when you are finished please come to Professor's Leah office's." He said with a smile.

As he walked away I grabbed my phone to text Nysha. Me and her were supposed to meet after math but now I'm going to have to change our plans.

"Hey I can't meet later because of up coming events, but me and you can go to dinner and I'll pay." I texted Nysha.

When I saw that Nysha seen my text I put my phone away, and went towards professor Leah's office. Ready for whatever is to come.
