EXTENDED SUMMARY

When Azalea Monroe's dad got a huge job offer, he moved their little family of two out of their run down home in the city, all the way to the most uninteresting suburb in America.

Azalea never felt like she fit in anywhere, feeling like a freak, keeping secrets she would never tell a soul. And she felt even more so abnormal in the small town of Hawkins where gossip spread a mile a minute.

The plus side of it all? Her dad's new job paid a lot, meaning they now lived in a beautiful home, too large for two people. The other plus side? Their next door neighbors.

Claudia Henderson and her son Dustin soon became a huge part of their lives. Adriel Monroe and Claudia started dating very soon after moving into town. It didn't take long for Dustin and Azalea to become friends.

Overtime, Azalea acclimated to Hawkins, Indiana—other than having a 13 year old as her only friend.

But then things started to get weird, and Dustin needed her help, involving her in the world of demogorgons, demodogs, a girl with telekinetic powers, and the upside-down.

Now, months later, they thought that was all behind them, ready to have a relaxing summer full of swimming in the pool, going to the mall, and making fun of Steve Harrington in his sailor uniform at work.

But it's never that easy, and things started to get weird again.

Azalea finds herself dragged back into the mysteries of Hawkins, but this time solving Russian codes in the back room of an ice cream shop with Dustin, Steve "the hair" Harrington, and a beautiful girl named Robin, who somehow pulled off the whole sailor look.
