Confession

Nancy is driving mike and Will to school. It's been about a week and they haven't talked a whole lot. Mike doesn't know what to say. They're both sitting In the back seat but they're as far apart as they possibly can be. "So will, how've you been?" Nancy says. Nancy barely even speaks to Will Because her and wills brother Jonathan broke up a few months ago. "Fine I guess" Will says. Mike is watching him while Will and Nancy make small talk about school and things. Mike try's to ignore the feeling he gets when will glances over to him. "Have fun at school!" Says Nancy and the boys get out of the car.

Mike would usually go to find the rest of the party right about now but Will hasn't been coming with him lately and Mike is worried so he decides to follow will instead. He walks into the bathroom and sees that only one stall door is closed so he walk up to it and knocks. "Go away please" Will says. "It's Mike. Please come out I want to talk." Will slowly opens the door and Mike notices a slight shine to his face. At first he is thinking about how pretty will is but then he realizes that the shine is wills tears. "Are you okay?" Mike asks. "Yeah I'm fine." Will says and walks towards the sinks. Mike follows. "So will I've been thinking,about what you told me the other day, and I wanted you to know.." "it's okay Mike I know." Will says. "You do?" "Yeah it's okay I understand if you don't want to be friends with someone like me." "No will.." "it's okay Mike really." Wills crying now, even more than before. Mikes crying too. He doesn't know how to say how he feels. He doesn't know how to tell Will that he doesn't only want to be friends but he might want to be more than friends. Before he can say anything else, Will has ran out of that bathroom.

It's last hour and Mike hasn't been able to concentrate all day. He can only think about Will. Mike notices that Will isn't in class and he gets worried. "Can I go to the bathroom?" Mike asks. "Hurry up wheeler" The teacher says. But Mike doesn't go to the bathroom instead he begins walking around the entire school searching for Will, not knowing what he'll do when he finds him. He heads to the bleachers outside the school and finds Will sitting on the highest one drawing. He sits next to Will and they sit like that, in silence for a few minutes until Mike finally says something. "Will?" "Yeah?" Will says. "Um well about earlier, I wasn't going to say I didn't want to be your friend." "What we're you going to say then?" Will says and Mike blushes. "Um well I don't know for sure or anything but I um-I don't think I'm straight Will." Wills looking at him but he doesn't say anything. He has a completely blank look on his face and Mike wonders if he should say something else. "Okay." Will says and turns to look at the football field. "Okay." Mike says disappointment in his voice and the boys sit in awkward silence until the bell rings.
