Chapter 22: Pure Love and Need

The next day Hinata's depression acted up again. He laid in bed by himself, odd for Hinata as he usually was very clingy. This was how Kageyama immediately knew something was wrong when he woke up, he rolled over and wrapped his arms around Hinata.

"You alright baby?"

"Mhm"

Kageyama took a deep breath, taking in the other boys scent, and then letting out a harsh sigh. He knew something was wrong. But he didn't want to be pushy. Kageyama gently licked the back of Hinata's neck.

"Stop."

"Sorry."

He let go of Hinata. Something was definitely wrong. He went into the bathroom and started a shower, climbing in. As he rinsed his hair he heard the loud sobs come from Hinata. He immediately climbed out of the shower and wrapped a towel around his waist, walking into the room to see a rough looking boy, face splotchy with red and trembling. Kageyama gently climbed onto the bed and held out his hand. Hinata took it and climbed into his lap.

"What's wrong Sho?"

"I-I just don't feel g-good today I feel like I might r-relapse-"

"Well we won't let that happen sweetheart, what can I do to help."

"I-I need to get dressed a-and I can't do it."

"Well let me help you, okay?"

Hinata nodded and Kageyama set him aside, picking out his clothes.

"Let's go wash up, okay?"

"Mhm"

Kageyama picked him up once again and gently took his clothes off, prepping the bath and placing him in the tub.

"I-I'm sorry."

"No it's okay love. Don't be sorry."

Hinata began to shake, tears falling from his eyes again.

"Hey, it's okay Sho."

Kageyama gently placed kisses on the back of Hinata's neck as he wet the smaller boys hair, lathering it with soap. He then rinsed his hair and removed the boy from the bath, wrapping him in a towel.

"Do you want me to leave the room so you can change?"

"N-no"

"Okay"

Kageyama sat on the bed and watched the smaller boy slowly get dressed, visibly frustrated at the fact that it was so hard for him today. He climbed into bed again. Kageyama climbed in beside him and spooned him, squeezing him a bit and petting his head. Hinata whined.

"What do you want baby?"

Hinata flipped over and buried his face into Kageyama's neck. Kageyama held him close.

"What's wrong?"

Hinata quietly cried. He hated feeling like this. He hated having to be helped. Today he was dealing with suicidal ideation, a thing he had never dealt with before. It was hard. He clinged onto Kageyama as his sobs began to get louder, him practically screaming now. He wanted them to stop. He wanted to be happy and functioning. Kageyama flipped him over and held himself up with his forearms, Hinata underneath him.

"Calm down honey it's okay!"

Hinata continued to scream. He was scared.

"Baby! It's okay!

Kageyama got up and moved Hinata into his lap, holding his face and wiping away his tears.

"What's wrong?

"I-I want-"

"It's okay. What do you want?"

"M-my head is-is telling me to um-"

"Hm?"

"K-kill myself."

Kageyama's heart dropped. That wasn't something he expected to come out of his usual Ray of sunshine. He pulled the boy in and held him tight.

"Y-you know not to listen, right?"

"Y-yeah it's just scaring m-me"

Kageyama laid back down with the smaller boy, still clinging to him. Suddenly he was scared to let go. Like something would happen. Tears began to fall from Kageyama's eyes, something he desperately was trying to hide. He didn't want Hinata to feel bad. But he couldn't imagine losing him. Just the thought made him so sad and scared. He let go of the smaller boy and faced the bathroom, not allowing his face to be seen.

"I'll be right back"

He went into the bathroom and began to bawl, sitting on the counter. He tried to stop. He quickly wiped his tears, splashed water on his face and came back to Hinata sitting next to the door.

"Don't c-cry Tobio I'm okay"

Kageyama picked him up.

"I'm sorry baby you just scared me a little"

Kageyama carried him back over to the bed, placed him down, and climbed on top of him.

"Can I kiss you?"

"Yes p-please"

Kageyama gently connected their lips, smiling and slowly moving them in sync with Hinata. Hinata gently slid his tongue into Kageyama's mouth and grabbed the collar of his shirt, pulling him closer. Kageyama smiled and slightly pulled away.

"Calm down pretty boy"

Hinata grabbed the back of Kageyama's head and pulled him in again, moaning in his mouth. Kageyama gently slid his hands into Hinata's shirt, resting them on the sides of Hinata's warm torso.

"Is this okay?" Hinata asked.

"Mhmmm"

Hinata continued to kiss the taller boy, his tongue exploring every inch of the other boys mouth as he quietly moaned. It had been awhile since theyd made out like this. No sexual intent. Just pure love and need. Hinata finally pulled away and pressed their foreheads together, smiling. Kageyama smiled back.
