Ben was now walking through the halls of the school as he thought about the previous day's event.

Let's recap: Ben was eating a hot dog on top of a building when he started hearing the voices of numerous mutants. The weird part, he was able to understand all the conversations and thoughts. Like, that means he was able to read the minds of an entire island and according to certain assumptions of his, he was able to read even Arakko's minds. Not to mention that Ben managed to find a satellite that was in space while he was sitting in a building in the middle of New York. So he soon assumed that maybe the creation of that universe wasn't the only power he manifested.

Then Ben looked away for a second and when he saw it, the satellite had been destroyed.

?:Hi, Ben!

Ben was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a mysterious voice.

Ben: Oh, hi Haley.

Haley: You seemed to be a little off-kilter. What was there?

Ben: Nothing interesting just... life stuff. By the way, how are you?

Haley: Heh, I'm fine. Thanks to your...

Ben: Coff, Coff!

Haley: What was that forced cough?

Ben (Whispering): Haley, I'm sorry but I'd rather you not talk about my secret identity around here.

Haley: Oh, sorry. My bad. Then meet me on the roof.

(Ten minutes later)

Now he was having lunch on the roof.

Haley: So, did you meet that girl from the other day?

Ben: Yeah. I think I'm sort of her partner.

Haley: Like Spider-Man and Shadowcat?

Ben: No, it's more like Batman and Robin.

Haley: Which one are you?

Ben: Need to ask?

Haley: I don't think so. And then, did something interesting happen?

Ben: No.

Haley: Hey, I know it's kind of sudden but do you mind if I ask you a personal question?

Ben: What?

Haley: How did you get your powers?

Ben: I think I woke them up when I was 11.

Haley: Do you think so?

Ben: It's just that I've gotten so used to wearing them that I've even forgotten what life was like without them.

Haley: I thought since you were his son- She referred to Spider-Man- you had the powers from birth.

Ben: Nah. Although it made my parents' job easier since I didn't walk on walls.

Haley: That reminds me... is Shadowcat your mother?

Ben: Why does everyone ask me that? It is possible that there is a partnership between man and woman without there being romance in between!

Haley looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

Ben: I'm not going to answer that question I'm sorry.

Haley: All right, your facial expression already answered me.
