Having gone through the strangest moment of his life, Ben was now heading home.
Ben knew that often, the famous Parker Luck tends to happen at the worst times. Amazing how bad luck can be hereditary.
He was now thinking about what had happened and trying to regain his focus.
Omni-Spider(Thinking): All right, let's recap. 1. I met a restaurant cook who at first glance was weird but later I found out he was a nice guy. 2. The most beautiful girl I've ever seen in my life text me and we fight a gang and arrange to meet tomorrow at a nightclub. 3. The girl I have a crush on is the aforementioned cook's daughter. Dude... when will my bad luck end?! I... I can't mess up tomorrow or Sora will think I'm an idiot. But...tomorrow, we'll do a mission and not a date. Wait, is it possible that fighting crime is considered a date? No, it's not possible. Girls must not like to fight all the time. What a pain because Sora looks beautiful when she fights!
Ben stops for a second and realizes what he was thinking about. He looks at the sky and then thinks.
Omni-Spider: Wait...what am I thinking?
He said it out loud... before crashing into an office building window and scaring everyone there.
Omni-Spider:My bad! Sometimes I get a little thoughtful!- He apologizes and then starts walking along the wall while placing his hand on his chin.
Omni-Spider: Okay, calm down Parker. You are not a coward. It's pretty simple, you go there, find Sora, help her punch a bunch of bad guys and then... what happens next? I...will I stop seeing her? But... I... Ahhhh, damn it! How could I have entered a school for geniuses but I can't find a solution!? I just wanted to ask someone's advice.
He positions himself to be glued to the wall of the building as he looks down at the streets.
Omni-Spider: Dad already helped me. Casey and May don't know anything about dating...so I can only ask the smartest person I've ever met for help.
Parker Residence:
Ben comes home to find Kitty at the table writing something on the computer.
Ben: Hi Mom I need some advice.- He arrived and got straight to the point. Panic was something you could hear in his voice.
Kitty:Benny, you know I love helping you but I have to write down the details of the experiment we did in the lab today.
Ben: Dad can't help you?
Kitty: He's busy collecting evidence of a jewelry store robbery. You know, his life as a forensic scientist tends to keep him busy from time to time.
Kitty was mentioning Peter's work. After graduating from ESU, Peter planned to get a job that fit his qualifications. As much as he wanted to get a job at a lab that paid a lot so he could give Kitty a good life, she insisted to him that he should get a job that felt right for him.
So, he decided to become a forensic scientist for the NYPD. So he would have a job that would pay him enough to live well with Kitty and, if need be, he would decide to retire from crime fighting.
At the time, Kitty also thought that she should get a job because she didn't want Peter to have to pay all the bills. Luckily, being a tech genius and a PHD in astrophysics came in handy at the time. She applied for a job at the New York Astrophysics Laboratory and got the job. She worked hard and became a great professional in the area. In fact, Kitty loved taking her kids to work. He was always impressed by what they saw and sometimes scientists asked them for help to solve certain problems.
Kitty: Ah...okay, why do you need some advice?- She asks as she puts the computer away from her and looks at Ben.
Ben: It's just... it's about a girl...-He said to his mother with a slightly embarrassed tone of voice. He liked talking to Kitty but this must be the first time they've had a conversation like this.
