I woke up to the sun shining through my window, it luminated my room with a soft yellow. I sat up looked around to get my eyes to adjust, then it hit me. Nick's coming over. I smiled to myself and it made me excited to just get to school, but then i looked down at my floor and i had some cleaning to do.
quickly i got dressed and did my usual routine before leaving for school, my mom was at work, that means my mom wouldnt pester me about eating breakfast. I grabbed an orange took the peels off throwing them in the bin and walked out the front door letting the morning breeze hit my face.
I ate my orange on the walk to school, great now my hands are gonna smell like oranges.
"morning!" i said to Charlie as i sat down
"your peppy today" he said looking up from his journal
"am i?" i asked
"yes your practically glowing with happiness" he said giggling
i just smiled to myself
"y/n" charlie said
"yess" i replied
"what has gotten you in this mood?" he asked
"welllllll" i said dragging the L
"tell me tell me tell me" Charlie squealed
"Nick is coming over after school." i stated
he widend his eyes and his mouth fell open
"your kidding!" he said
i nodded no
"and your really trying to say you just wanna be friends with him" he said
right. i am. what has gotten into me.
"i- i am" i said
"theres nothing wrong with liking someone y/n" charlie said
"its just the fact that i have zero chance" i said
"oh come on! have you seen the way he looks at you?" charlie asked
"he looks at me like everyone else does." i stated
"what are we talking about?" Nick said as he sat down setting his bag down on the floor
"nothing" i said
"okay" Nick said
Charlie kept giving me looks i tried to ignore him but i couldnt help but smile.
"so Nick what are you up to for the evening?" Charlie asked looking at me with a grin
"Oh uh im going over to y/n's house after school" He said, he said it like he was proud he was coming over which made me smile
"that sounds like fun" Charlie said sarcastically
"Maybe you could come over too Charlie" I blurted
Charlie looked at me confused, I looked at Nick and looked sad, almost hurt?
"I have plans me and Tao are...um going to the Mall.." Charlie said awkwardly
"oh okay thats...fine." I said sternly
I looked over to Nick and he gave me a small smile then looked down sadly, i looked away and Charlie looked at me confused and mouthed "what are you doing?" i just shrugged.
Class was over and as i stood up Nick walked over to me
"my mom wants me home after school, i cant come over, sorry." He said then walked away.
