Annabeth Does the Unthinkable

"Ow! Can't you go easier on me?" Jack whined, as Charisse was teaching him some swordplay. She was beating him up, that son of an empousai. I was walking past the sword fighting arena on my way to pegasi riding with the Aphrodite cabin.

Piper rolled her eyes when I arrived, chuckling to myself. "That jerk of Percy's brother still amusing you?" She asked, mounting her tan-brown steed.

"Yeah. His failure at being heroic is hilarious." I mounted my own steed, a chocolate brown pegasus named Brightstar. We took off, and had a race. I didn't win, but I always have tons of fun riding pegasi.

Piper, Elise and I got special permission from Chiron to go to the nearest mall and go clothes shopping. We tried getting Annabeth to come with us, but she was out of her mind with worry. Piper was the only one who went with excitement. Elise and I just wanted to spend time with our friend. A couple giant shopping bags later, we went back to camp.

I walked past the Poseidon cabin to get to my cabin before the heavy shopping bag cut through my hand. My senses suddenly went on high alert. I tensed and whipped around. Jack was trying to flirt with Annabeth, who was looking for clues about Percy's disappearance around his cabin. As I was watching her trying to pull away, she tripped and Jack took the opportunity to kiss her. My jaw dropped as I saw Percy come 'round the corner of his cabin and see the scene in front of him. The two kissing pulled away. Annabeth turned red with embarrassment when she saw me staring, and then turned pale when she saw Percy. "Per-" she tried, but he cut her off. "I thought you loved me. I thought you would be searching for me. Instead, you replaced me." He turned on his heel and marched away. I sped-ran to him and grabbed his wrist. "Where were you?" I demanded.

Percy frowned. "Didn't you know? I was on Chaos' planet. Chaos kidnapped me."

I shook my head. "No. End kidnapped you. He is using you to attack and destroy Earth."

He tugged his wrist from my grip. "I just want to forgot what just happened."

I grabbed his arm. "Stop." I commanded, my voice sounding more rich and more forceful. Percy froze. "Listen to me. Whoever kidnapped you is telling you lies. Annabeth still loves you. Your friends still miss you. Poseidon still is your father, and he is proud of you. Don't go back to where you were. Stay here."

My words got through the thick seaweed brain of his. Percy's green eyes cleared of the fog of grief and betrayal.

A chuckle came from behind me. "Oh, daughter of Chaos, that won't work."

Jack was smiling evilly, dragging Annabeth, unconscious, behind him. Percy rushed to her, but flew back when Jack held up his hand. My hands curled into fists. "How do you know my parentage?"

Jack flicked his wrist, and Annabeth flew from his grasp to be tossed like a rag doll to the nearest tree. "Well, if one was a child of End, he would know."

I scowled. My friends were both too dazed and hurt to fight. My shopping bag had fallen out my hand long ago. I ripped Starsweeper off my wrist. "A child of my father's enemy is my enemy. You did nothing to redeem yourself, and you're just a no-good son of empousai."

Jack chuckled. "Look who's talking. An assassin who has killed her share of my father's agents."

"I still have one more to kill." I snarled, still tensed up to fight.

Jack feigned innocence. "And who is that? Me?"

I attacked, and ran right through the empty air where he was. Jack laughed and grabbed Percy's shirt. "My father wants this one. Til we meet again, my friend." He zapped away with Percy in tow.

I yelled with anger and started to scream profanities at Jack. Annabeth woke up with a start. "Sam, tone it done. You're literally giving me a headache."

Elise came running to Annabeth, checking her health. "That little mother-*beeper*. When I get my hands in his *beeping* little *beep*, he'll so be dead." I muttered under my breath.

Elise glared at me. "Your anger is hurting my head. Cool it."

I couldn't. I couldn't calm down. I was getting so angry that I didn't notice myself start to glow.

"Parkington! Get out of here before you incinerate the whole camp!" Annabeth yelled at me.

I quickly zapped myself to Chaos' planet and fumed silently in my room. I sat there for hours fuming and literally smoking.

Chaos finally entered my room when I had stopped smoking. "You know, you freaked out all the servants and soldiers in my army. They left the palace to get away from your wrath."

I held my head in my hands. "Sorry. I just feel like disintegrating anyone who tries to talk to me at the moment. That kid Jack.....ugh....he took Percy to End. Now Percy's going to be brainwashed, and the whole universe is going to suffer."

He shook his head. "The universe is mine. It's not going to suffer. And we can find some sort of restoring cure for Percy when we capture him. Who's this Jack kid?"

I looked up at my father. "Did you know End had a kid? That's Jack."

He looked as if I said "eat your poop with a glass of your pee.". "End had a kid? With who?"

I shrugged. "Dunno. I'll find out when I infiltrate End's palace to get Percy back so Annabeth doesn't die out of grief and worry."

Chaos gave me the over-protective-parent look. Uh-oh. "You are not infiltrating End's palace. End of any discussion we're going to have about that."

I stood up suddenly. "Then what am I supposed to do? Let Percy be brainwashed? Let my friends die? Let the universe fail?"

"First of all, you need to calm down. Second, you are not going to play right into End's hands. He wants you to come marching up his front walk and bang down his door. Third...... You really need to calm down. It's hurting my head and you're smoking and glowing."

I crossed my arms and plopped back down on my bed. "I can't."

Chaos looked concerned. "You can't calm down?"

I nodded. "I need to let it out somehow. And there's no way to let the anger out unless I was fighting....." An idea hit me. "Call Alpha and tell him to meet me in the training room so I can blow off some steam."

Poor Alpha was beaten and bruised. I must've been extremely angry, because I almost decapitated him twice and almost cut his limbs off many times. The armory was extremely messed up, due to me coming in there just to grab another sword.

I sat, breathing heavily after the extreme 3-hour workout. Luke sat next to me, his blonde hair dripping with sweat. "You certainly were furious. I could barely keep up with you."

I sighed. "I don't know why I couldn't calm down. I feel somewhat calm now. Thanks."

He nodded. "You're welcome. Say, if I hug you next time, would you calm down?"

I shook my head. "I might end up disintegrating you. I was literally smoking and glowing. No one would want to even be in the same room as me, I was that mad."

Alpha chuckled. "So I'll try not to make you mad. I don't see how you're having a problem with this now when you didn't before."

I shrugged. "I must've unlocked all my powers when I sent Night to Tartarus. I just need to figure them all out now."

He smiled. "Then go do that, and get your mind off your missing friend."
