I stumbled back from the place where Jack disappeared, suddenly exhausted. End was hidden in the shadows somewhere in the room. The dimly lit room seemed to grow darker, and I knew it was End's doing.
My father stood up, proud and tall, glowing with creation's light. His haggard appearance changed into the noble ruler of the universe, aka a cream toga with a black cord belt and a leafy crown.
"End. Show yourself." He called, his voice ringing with command, like mine does when I get angrily determined and want my way.
The demigods, my parents, and I could hear the primordial of destruction chuckling throughout the room. "I am on my home planet, which I took over myself. I grow stronger, as you all grow weaker."
At that, all the mortals but my mother collapsed. I did too, but stayed conscious and watched from my wonderful view on the floor. How my mother managed to stay on her feet was a surprise to me.
"You leave the children out of this, brother." Chaos said in his commanding voice.
"How can I leave my niece out of this? She is your child, after all. Too powerful to live, yet the world would go awry without her. The child of a primordial and a mortal is an interesting one to keep around."
I growled in annoyance. "I can hear you, you know?" Thankfully my tongue was not numb like the rest of my body.
End turned his attention to me. "And I thought you were finally out of my way! And yet, you keep coming back to annoy me like a little fly. You and that puny demigod named Percy Jackson."
"Be thankful that we keep coming back. You would be bored if you ruled the universe by now." My tongue was my only weapon against an immortal. But I heard one time that it was the strongest muscle in your body.
Chaos gave me a stop-talking-you're-going-to-get-killed look. I ignored it.
"Still, you would be fun to kill. Finally I will see the helpless look in you and your father's eyes." End's voice echoed around me, but where it was the loudest was to my right, about a yard away. I closed my eyes and concentrated on feeling my whole body, from my neck to my toes.
A tingling spread through my body, and I opened my eyes to find myself glowing with the same light as Chaos, though a bit dimmer. I rose and faced the spot where End stood. "I'm only helpless when I'm dead and in the Underworld." I spat at him.
A hand landed in my shoulder. I knew it was my father, giving me the strength to go on.
End chuckled again. "Like father, like daughter. You are weak, Samara, and you can't hold your own. Chaos is a coward and a fool to think that the world can exist without destruction."
Chaos stood proud and tall behind me. "I believe that the balance needs to be found, and will do whatever it takes to obtain that balance, for the good of the universe."
After Chaos's peace talk, I did the opposite. I attacked, and found End writhing on the floor, me pinning him down.
Chaos started to chant in Greek. I could translate, but I couldn't understand. Something to do with banning and trapping and "into my own form".... Wait, what the Chaos is going on? Is Chaos doing what I think he's doing?
My father finished chanting, and End turned into a wisp of shadow. It floated through the air towards my father, and Chaos closed his hand and snuffed out the shadow.
I eyed him carefully. "What are you going to do with that?" I thought towards him.
He locked his starry eyes with mine. "Later."
The shadows and darkness dispersed. My mother was still standing, staring at Chaos with wide, round eyes. They seemed to be having a silent argument.
The demigods sat up wearily. "I think I've been knocked out enough today." Jason remarked.
Percy looked at our surroundings in anger. "I didn't want to be back in this place anymore, after the whole brainwashing thing, but here I am." He punched a wall, and the whole palace started shaking.
"Oops."
"This place is going to collapse!" Annabeth said loudly, quickly getting on her feet, scanning the throne room with architect eyes.
"Grab on!" I called over the sound of rumbling walls. The demigods and I made a hasty circle holding hands, and I zapped us all back to Earth.
