" i'm a cold blooded killer, baby, "

arat looked almost as taken aback as kodi did, her jaw dropped open before she gulped anxiously. "i-i thought-" arat tried to say, but stopped. she was afraid her voice would betray her and break, so she just sat up off the couch and stared down at kodine.

"did you just kiss me? why would you-" ko asked, touching her lips in remembrance. she couldn't believe she had actually kissed her back-even though she assumed it was negan. she'd known immediately by the second kiss it wasn't him, even when she was half asleep. her thoughts immediately ran to the man, thinking that he would believe she betrayed him. god, this was going to be hard to explain.

"i thought it was obvious, kodi. i-i thought you liked me too," arat said quietly, pushing her hair behind her ear and moving closer to the rv door. "you were flirting with me every time we went on runs-" arat accused.

"i wasn't flirting with you, i was making a friend! god. get out of here, please arat," kodine said, wiping at her lips. she needed to get the taste of arat off of them, and she quickly went over to the bathroom and tried washing her lips off. it was a sad attempt, but she'd do anything to not feel like she'd just betrayed negan. it was nearly cheating.

by the time kodi came back from the bathroom arat was gone, and kodine let out a much needed sigh. she sat back down on the couch and slowly fell asleep. a while later the door to the rv opened and again somebody had came in and kissed kodi. this time she immediately woke up and smiled to see negan hovering over her, scooting her over so he could fit on the couch next to her.

he growled as he attacked her neck and kodi mumbled a complaint. "im tired," she had said, but he kept leaving kisses in his wake. "take off your shirt, ko," he said in that same voice that never failed to get kodine to do what he said. she smiled and pulled the fabric over her head, grabbing negan's face even closer to hers as he removed his jeans.

by the time they were finished simon knocked on the rv door, and negan hesitantly got up, planting a few more sloppy kisses on kodi. she turned away tiredly, groaning in complain. "brat," negan muttered, searching the floor for his shirt. simon knocked again. "hold on, si," negan called, going to the back of the rv and grabbing an extra shirt, "i'll be back, ko, i just gotta go deal with something," he whispered before leaving.

kodine wasn't sure how long she slept before she woke up and craved a breath of fresh air. she turned over on the couch, rolling off of negan's shirt and picking up the wrinkled fabric. she stood up and slipped the shirt over her head, only bothering to slip on her red laced underwear before she got restless. she was tired of waiting for negan to come back, and it seemed like it had been a long time since she saw him. she didn't like being cooped up in a small space either.

kodine stepped out of the rv with a yawn, stretching her arm up and letting negan's oversized shirt rise to just below her hip. when she opened her eyes, she yelped, grabbing the hem of negan's shirt and pulling it down. in front of her was a line of people on their knees, all looking at her wide eyed. surrounding those people were the saviors, everybody's eyes on the girl.

nobody had ever seen her like this. she was vulnerable, underdressed and tired. her hair stuck up in every which way, the natural waves cute when her hair wasn't up. everybody was used the seeing her walk around the sanctuary like she owned the place, and nobody dared to mess with her. but now she was walking out of negan's rv, barely dressed and stifling a yawn.

negan stood closest to her, holding a bloody man by the collar, lucille in his other hand and dripping with blood and guts. negan stopped, allowing rick to regain his balance to look up at the girl. negan licked his lips at the sight of kodine, looking around at everybody who was staring. his eyes went down to ricks, whos eyes couldn't be peeled away from kodi's. she looked down at him, blood coating his face, a familiar look in his eyes. god, what was happening while kodi was just napping a few feet away?

negan shook rick, causing the man to fall back off balance. "don't look at her," negan whispered before turning back to the rest of ricks people and the saviors. "as you were!" he called like he usually did when everybody was on their knees in front of him, but now it was for a much different reason. negan's voice caused nearly everybody to snap out of their trance, and they all turned back to what they were doing.

"dwight," negan called, nodding over to kodi. dwight hesitated, but eventually came to kodine's side and ushered her to the jeep. she followed him blindly, allowing him to pull her arm along as she looked at ricks people. two of them weren't even people anymore, just brains on the ground. she looked eyes with a woman, a short haired brunette crying her eyes out. only a few feet away was the man who was dead now, and kodine didn't have to ask-she knew what happened.

she sat in the jeep in silence with dwight beside her until negan returned in the rv. he was about to get out until kodi stopped him, "dwight?" she started, "those are the people who shot down our outpost? they deserved it, right?" she asked.

dwight took a deep breath, "nobody questions negan, he does what he has to for the sanctuary-for the saviors," he said. kodi gave him a look, and he knew what he said hadn't been a good enough answer for her. "they deserve it, kodi," he finally said, although kodi wasn't so sure if dwight even believed that himself.

they killed everybody in a whole outpost, kodine. negan only killed two of their people, of course they deserved that-if not more. don't question him, he's your boss. kodi convinced herself before allowing dwight to fully leave her alone in the jeep.
