Protecting the village (Chapter 10)

I finally ran into Natsu who couldn't find the village. He dragged me back to the top where we saw Gray. "Get up Gray!" Natsu said since I couldn't talk. " Man you look rough. He beat the snot out of you huh?" Gray looked up at us, "Natsu, Y/n. What are you dosing here?" Natsu turned slightly to look behind us. " I ran into Y/n and I couldn't remember how to get to the village, so I climbed back up to look for it. I see it now. Come on. Let's go." He grabbed Gray by the back of the shirt but Gray stopped him. "Wait. I can walk. Where's Lyon?" Gray stood up and spotted the ice on my mouth. "Y/n are you ok, does it hurt." I nodded my but made a hand motion to signal I'm fine. Gray almost fell but Natsu caught him and threw him in his giant ice back? " no hold on. We have to hurry and get back to the vege before they do." We began to walk down the mountain. "Hey." Gray called softly, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't believe in you. I'm no better." Tears were running down Grays face. " quit feeling sorry for yourself'Cause you lost a fight! Your remember a fairy tail! We don't give up when times are tough. So just put it behind you and keep moving forward." Natsu started to run and I followed.

We were running and finally made it to the village. As we were running the gate opened. I could see Lucy telling him stop and noticed the trap. Oh great. Natsu stopped in time but decided to step on the grass anyway. I quickly caught Gray but couldn't get Natsu in time. " i'm glad you're OK I was worried about you." Happy called to Natsu. " yeah I'm fine but Grace down for the count." I quickly lowered Gray down and he opened his eyes slightly. He brought a hand to my mouth and I felt the ice melt. My skin burned but I smiled at him. Natsu looked down at him, "woah the ice is gone! It just have cracked when I fell." I rolled my eyes and Natsu climbed out. Gray had passed out again and I let him use my lap as a pillow. " so how come Lyons Lackeys haven't made it here yet?" 'Hmm I have a bad feeling.' " they left for the village before you, but you got here first. I wonder what's taking them so long." I looked down at gray and ran a hand over his face softly. Anger swelled up in my chest like a bubble ready to burst. Brushing some hair from his face I sighed. "Over there." Someone yelled, I looked up and saw the rat flying, with a bucket. Didn't think this day could get any weirder. " what but now my pitfall trap is totally pointless!" I shook my head and pulled out my weapon. Making a staff. What's in the bucket? A green drop began to fell towards me and Lucy. What I tha- Natsu grabbed us both, pulling us away. Oh crap! The ground where we were standing is melting! " that smell I knew that stuff was deadly." Everyone began to panic. Running home to get their family or frozen in fear. I quickly ran to Gray. The rat threw jelly above us. " how are we gonna protect ourselves from acid jelly?!" Natsu began to run as he called out. " I want everyone to get in the center of the village." He then grabbed happy and took to the air. I pulled Gray and give him to some villagers when the chief said he wasn't going. I quickly turned and ran back to him before picking him up. "Let me go, I can't leave him!"

"Do you think he'd want you to die this way!?" The chief stopped struggling and went quite. "No! That grave is not Bobo, Bobo is watching you right now! His body might be their but his spirt is waiting. Waiting for you and you're villagers to finally be freed from this curse! Don't disappoint him." Tears tan down the olds man face as I ran. 'We're not gonna make it!' Lucy turned and saw me. "Y/n no!" Acid rain began to fall, some coming straight for me. Before I knew it I was in Virgos arms along with chief. "Virgo!" She put me down and I helped the Clift stand up straight. " The village has been completely dissolved." Someone said, I looked around, sad that their home is gone. "Bobos graves still standing." I was about to smile when someone kicked it over. My gut dropped, and then a rage I'd never felt before fell over me. " The cold emperor order us to ratdicate the village and its people. We were trying to show mercy by making your deaths quick and painless. But since that didn't work, we'll have to resort to bloodshed." I turned my staff into double blades. " 50 villagers, three wizards. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes." Natsu got in his stance, me and Lucy followed. "You guys ready." "Yeah." I didn't respond, instead nodded my head. " how dare they, such disrespect. They kicked over Bobo's grave!" The villagers had to hold the chief back. " let me help you." I turned to see Gray standing and shook my head. "no you're badly injured gray." Natsu tan up and knocked Gray out, that's one way to make him stay. The villagers took Gray off our hands and began to leave. " we're not leaving until every person in this village is dead." I turned back to look at her. As we made eye contact I saw a bead of sweat run down her face. She turned to her rat and they began to fly, and they took Lucy. Great. She can handle herself but still. I saw Lucy start to tickle the rat making them fall. I bet she's fine. " do you think she made it? That big rat might've crushed her." Happy agreed to go check and I smiled at him, grateful. Me and Natsu turned back to the other two. Natsu jumped forward and head butted the dog. While the blue hair male was distracted I landed a jump kick straight to his face. I jumped away and Natsu blew first at him, but he blocked it. " A wizard who can breathe fire? I see. Don't tell me you're the salamander from fairytale i've heard so much about. And you got lucky with that hit." The end was directed towards me and I scoffed. "you know, we used to be members of a famous guild ourselves. So you shouldn't blow us off. In fact, iron rock Jura used to belong to the same guild. Surely you've heard of the Lamia scale." Natsu didn't care and blew fire at them. "Hey cut it-" I came up behind him, slashing towards him. He was able to dodge my fist strike but then got a knee to the face. He threw a punch that I dodged and spat angrily, "listen when I'm talking to you!" Natsu scoffed loudly, " why? Do you think I care what guild you're from, or who the other members are. We came here to help the villagers, and you were the ones who put them in danger." I quickly changed my weapon to a staff. " which makes you fairy tails enemy. And that gives me more than enough reason to fight you." The blue haired guy looked at the dog man names Toby. " hey Toby just stay back. You don't need to get involved I've got this." Like I was gonna let the Toby guy alone. The blue haired man sent an attack at Natsu as I ran at the dog man. He didn't see me till I brought my staff to his gut. He gasped and I sent a right hook his way. I hit his face once and went for a left hook but he caught my hand and threw me away from him. I stabbed my staff into the ground to stop myself. I quickly turned my staff into a bow and arrow. I sit the arrow and he dodged, giving me enough time to create my staff again and bring it down on his face. Suddenly his nails grew and he swiped at me. I quickly jumped back away from him. "Jeez you're quick. Owieeee!" I deadpanned at him. Seriously? I heard a crashing turned to see Natsu had sent the blue haired guy flying. " that's one down." Natsu said and then turned to us. He grinned as he saw us. "Looks like Y/n got some hits in you. My turn." He punched his fist into his hand. "Y/n, will you take care of that guy over there." Blue haired man was knocked out. I nodded and quickly dashed order to him. Using some rope I kept on my to toe his hands and feet together. I sat him up onto a wall and then turned to see Natsu had already beat that guy. Natsu picked up Bobos grave and fixed it making me smile. " we're gonna find a way to change your people back to normal Bobo. I know we will. And I promise you, I will avenge your death." I walked up behind Natsu and felt the same pounding in my head from earlier. "Ugh, Natsu." I felt myself away forward and he caught me. "It's happening again, I don't know what it is." Nastu held my waist and brought his forehead to mine. "Y/n you're burning up." I gritted my teeth and felt my legs give out. Natsu hooked an arm under my legs and picked me up.
