A/N: Muahahaha I love hidden villains. Glinda Castellio everyone^^ And this whole chapter is a flashback so stuff is reversed. Text is italics. Thoughts are normal text.

Glinda Castellio grinned maliciously; her face half hidden by shadow as she watched Maldeena through the crack in the door.

The famous dark witch, known for her callousness and heart of stone, was humming a soft lullaby to the baby girl she was rocking in her arms.

Once, Glinda thought as Maldeena did. That the girl was adorable, and completely helpless, yet trusting, of the new world she'd entered two months ago.

But her mind was clearer now. The Mirror had shown her all.

That girl would be the end of the world. Maldeena had too much darkness in her, and she'd cursed her own child, without ever casting a spell.

Maldeena's daughter was the single most destructive witch of the century. She could pull apart anything, whether it was physical, or not.

If Glinda was to avenge the Mirror, and earn her rightful place as the most powerful witch ruler of not only Nazeen but all of the world, she would have to destroy Maldeena.

And what better way to destroy an allegedly heartless dark witch than by taking the only thing that she had ever loved?

Glinda had carefully planned this out, even going so far as to illusion her appearance. She would make Maldeena believe that Ilsadora had betrayed her, and killed her daughter. Then, she would suggest Maldeena avenge her daughter's death by taking everything from Ilsadora in return.

An eye for an eye, a daughter for a daughter.

Then, after Ilsadora lost her daughter, and possibly several other things of importance, she would give up.

Glinda needed Ilsadora to give up. She was not strong enough to destroy an enchantress, and neither was Maldeena. If Glinda wished to rule Nazeen, she would have to turn Ilsadora and Maldeena so completely against each other that one would kill the other.

She was counting on Ilsadora killing Maldeena.

Then, after Maldeena was dead, Glinda would enact phase two of her plan, with the people of Remembauri, as her cousin enacted phase three in Alleba.

But first, Glinda would have to take Maldeena's daughter.

Maldeena laid her daughter in her cradle, and left the room, likely to grab some tea.

The moment the door closed, Glinda slid open the door to the closet, slinking into the room, a silver hooded cloak over her head. She glared down at the sleeping girl in the cradle.

This was not a baby, but a weapon of destruction. The Mirror had told her so.

Therefore, she could not live.

Glinda gingerly picked the girl up, like she was a bomb set to explode in front of her face, and held her at arms' length. The girl stirred ominously, obviously a light sleeper.

Glinda would have to act quickly.

She flew to the window, just as the baby's eyes opened. Upon seeing a woman that was not her mother, the baby's irises turned red and she started screaming.

Maldeena burst back into the room just as Glinda jumped from the window, making sure Maldeena didn't see her face, but the cloak, before she ran off into the night.

***

All too soon, Glinda encountered a problem.

She couldn't kill the child.
