Chapter 34

Andrea groggily steps out of her room, the aroma of sizzling bacon welcoming her. She wondered why her mom was up early and cooking something since they just usually order their meals.

"Oh—good morning princess!"

"Dad?!" Andrea's eyes widen in shock, "Ano pong ginagawa niyo dito?"

Mr. Gorostiza sets the bacons down, "Well, sabi kasi ng mom mo na ako muna mag hatid sa'yo today." He unties his apron, "May client kasi siya na interested sa recent artworks niya."

Andrea nods, finally realizing why her mother was busy arranging her paintings last night, "Eat na po tayo?"

Mr. Gorostiza sits on the opposite side of the table, "Bilisan natin para 'di ka ma late."

There was a moment of silence, Andrea wants to break it with a question but she was not sure if her father would even answer truthfully.

Mr. Gorostiza sighs, "What is it anak?"

"P-Po?"

"Anong ​itatanong mo?"

"Dad, what will happen sa inyo po ni mom?"

Mr. Gorostiza leans back in his seat, "Me and your mom, we're still talking about divorce." He said, "Ma-finalize man ang papers or hindi, I'll be here to support all of you."

Andrea sets down her fork, "Alam na po ba nila ate at ni kuya?"

Mr. Gorostiza nods, "They told us na whatever happens, they'll respect our decision." He smiled, "How are you coping up princess?"

"To be very honest po, I am trying to see the good in this." Andrea replied, "And kung tama po ba na nag stay muna ako kay mom."

Mr. Gorostiza laughs, "Dahil ba puro take-outs lang kayo?" He asked and his daughter nodded, "Then this weekend, turuan kitang mag luto."

"How about a cook-off po?" Andrea smirked, "Chin gave me tips on how to be a better cook." She proudly said, "So sure po ako na I can beat you."

"Really?" Mr. Gorostiza smiled, "Speaking of Chin, how was your relationship so far with her?"

"Nag o-overthink lang po ako na baka umabot kami sa situation niyo ni mom po ..."

"Mabait ​na bata si Francine and I could guarantee you that kahit minsan lang kami magkita." Mr. Gorostiza reassured her daughter, "Do you want to marry her?"

Andrea blushes at the thought, "I ..." She bits her bottom lip, "I want to po, when the time is right."

"There is never a right time princess." Mr. Gorostiza stands up, "Pero school niyo meron so bilisan mo na!"

"Yes sir!"

Andrea finishes her breakfast and her father offers to wash the dishes as she prepares herself for school. Her phone rings as she grabs her necktie.

"Good morning!"

"Good morning cutie." Andrea greeted back, "Kumain ka na?​"

Francine​ hums, "Ready na kami umalis para sunduin ka."

"Huwag na," Andrea said, "Dad's here naman."

"Oh—tell tito I said good morning po!"

Andrea laughs, "Magkikita lang naman din kayo mamaya." She looks around her room to find her perfume, "Just greet him personally."

"Okay po~" Francine grunts on the other line and a thud was heard as well, "Aalis na kami, see you at the academy?"
