Valentine's Day ...
Francine woke up early just to pack the chocolates she made yesterday for her friends this Valentine's Day, she stifles a yawn as she grabs the small notes she wrote last night. She searched for a lot of quotations on the internet that fits right for the person she'll give to.
"Good morning miss ..." Erika greeted as she ties her apron, "Aga niyo pong nagising?"
Francine greeted back as she slides a plate that is full of cookies, "Para po sa friends ko." She replied, "Kain po."
Erika grabs one and smells it, "Hm~ parang Christmas lang ulit." She said before taking a bite, "As usual, the best!"
Francine grins, now she feels confident to give her Valentine's gift to everyone. Erika helps her clean up the mess she made on the counter top then the latter proceeds to make her a quick breakfast.
"Ate, mahirap po ba ang college?" Francine asked out of the blue, "Curious lang po."
Erika shrugs, "So far naman sa'kin, okay lang." She replied, "Irregular nga lang ako dahil nag stop ako nung second year." She grabs a plate, "Kinakabahan ka?"
Francine nods, "Interview ko na kasi before prom." She sighed, "What if 'di ako maka pasa sa interview?"
"Relax, sabi nga nila, claim it.." Erika reassured, "Claim mo na papasa ka."
"Pero kasi—"
"Miss, kung ako pa sa'yo tapusin niyo na po 'yan." Erika pointed the latter's plate, "Baka ma late po kayo."
"One last question po."
"Ano 'yon?"
"Naka experience po kayo ng LDR?"
Erika leans on the counter, "Nope and kung manghihingi ka ng advice, please sign this waiver ..." She handed an imaginary paper, "Just in case it went downhill, 'di ko na po kasalanan."
Francine laughs as she signs the imaginary paper, "So?"
"LDR works." Erika said simply, "Huwag kang maniwala sa mga napapanood at nababasa mo, nasa tao lang talaga 'yan." She smiled, "Kung gusto niyo talagang i-work out then road to forever na kayo."
"Hindi po kasi ako selosa at may tiwala naman ako kay Blythe ..." Francine trails, "Pero opposite po kami eh."
"Wala siyang tiwala sa'yo?"
"Hindi naman po sa gano'n." Francine answered, "Pero hindi ko na rin po siya masisisi kung mag kaka-doubt siya in the future dahil sa situation ng parents niya."
Erika nods, understanding the latter's situation, "Trust, communication, and assurance." She sighed, "Remember that para mag work relationship niyo ng matagal." She grabs a glass of water, "Basta, invited ako sa kasal niyo ha?"
Francine smiles, "Thank you po."
Francine finishes her breakfast and she dashes back to her room to take a shower, she listens to a podcast while she's at it. After drying herself up and putting on her uniform, she stares at her reflection in the mirror.
She's been stressed out lately and when she's got nothing to do, all she does is this. She doesn't know if her body is tired of all the school work, club activities, volunteer work, café duties, or dealing with a lot of people in general.
Sometimes, when she wants to rest, Andrea would invite her for a date. As she wants to be a great girlfriend, she would go. They would chat but mostly it is just her girlfriend talking and she would just listen.
Don't get her wrong, Andrea is an amazing girlfriend and partner-in-crime even if she's a cute green-eyed monster, but she's afraid to be vulnerable with her. Andrea has been through a lot lately and she doesn't want to be a burden with these concerns.
