Comforting the Deaf Boy

After the 'incident', you haven't seen Liam. Honestly, you're glad. It probably wouldn't be a good thing to run into him.

You've told your boss, Matthew, about what happened. He said that Liam had some history of getting violent when he didn't get what he wanted, therefore this information didn't surprise him. He said he'll think about what to do with him.

Whenever you seen Sunny for the first time after what happened, he didn't say anything at first. He just hugged you tightly and said "I'm sorry."

You reacted by hugging him back in silence.

This present day, you're currently playing tag with the toddlers. Whenever you sit down to take a break of crawling around, Cameron walks to you and pulls on your uniform shirt. "Oh, hey little buddy. Whatcha need?"

Cameron just looks at you confused. You slap yourself in the face after realizing; "Right: He's deaf."

You say the same thing again, but where he can understand it. Without warning, he crawls into your lap and just looks up at you. You pat his back. He then tells you that he's upset.

"What's wrong?" You say aloud and in sign.

Cameron informs you that none of the kids want to play with him at the moment and that he misses his mother. He keeps signing 'mother' until you tell him something else.

"She'll be here to pick you up at the end of the day. Promise."

He looks down at the ground, his black curls that match his eyes getting in your face. He then looks up at you, points at you, then rock his arms back in forth like he's rocking a baby, and then points at himself. He's asking you if you can help him fall asleep by rocking him; Something his mother does, you assume.

You turn your hand into a fist and rock your wrist up and down, the sign for 'yes', and position him where he's laying in your arms. He smiles at you lightly and closes his eyes after you begin rocking him back and forth gently.

After a few minutes of that, Cameron's fast asleep.

Sunny notices you holding the deaf boy and comes over to check out what's going on. "Aww! You got Cameron asleep! What an angel!" He purrs, putting his hands under his chin.

"Yeah, luckily for him he won't wake up from all this noise. He was missing his mother, so he wanted a nap." You explain.

"Oh. Well, I think you would be a good Parent, Y/N!"

You blush lightly, "Oh hush" you wave your hand at him, "You're just trying to flatter me."

"No, no! Its really true!" Sunny sees kids in the play set yelling for him to come play with them. "I'm going to play with some of the kiddos. Talk to you later, cupcake!"

Before he leaves you, he quickly kisses you on the cheek. You smile and enjoy the kind action from your robotic companion.

You figure it's weird that they can kiss? They're robots. Oh well, it's over your head.

You look down upon the sleeping boy and smile softly, glad that there is some innocence in this world.

Sorry this chapter was shorter. I didn't really know what to do. I have a great idea for the next chapter, though. It'll be posted by the end of next week.
