After what had happened, you gained the courage to tell Sunny and Moon about seeing Liam at the store yesterday and the car following you all the way home today. You think that the car that followed you was Liam's because you remember seeing the exact vehicle in the pizza plex's parking lot when he used to work there. The robot looked at you with worry when you told them.
Besides all that, something strange is beginning to occur. It started when you were bundled up in blankets. The note slid under your apartment door. Moon noticed it and retrieved it. His eyes traced the words. He gasped at what it had said. "What is it? Is it another bill?"
He shakes his head. He looks as if he has seen a ghost. Moon hands you the paper. You read what it says.
"I've found you. You're going to be mine once I get rid of that piece of trash. Then I'll get rid of your freak self."
You wince at the threat and the word freak. Moon has a hold of his chin and a worried expression on his face. You look up at him, "Well, this ain't a bill." He nods
"I would guess this is from Liam. That car that was following me home today was most likely Liam."
You feel tears form in your eyes. Moon sits down next to you and rubs your arm. "It's going to be okay. We'll protect you. If you want, you can contact the police."
You wipe a tear from your warm cheek, "I don't know. Maybe. What if he doesn't do anything? What if he's trying to scare me?"
"We don't know that. But, we promise, whatever happens, we'll be here with you."
You smile lightly and press your forehead against his. He smiles back.
A couple of days later, another note arrives. This one says
"You look so peaceful when you sleep."
This made you call the police. You show the police officer the letters. She shakes her head, "All we can do is keep someone out here to watch for a couple of nights. If we don't see nothin', we can't do anythin' bout it."
You feel like crying again, but you don't. "Thank you."
After that, you don't receive any other notes. The police officer that watched over didn't see anything unusual. Hopefully, Liam noticed the police and decided to stop his shenanigans. He must have known the police were serious.
You just hope that whatever your future holds, it isn't anything awful.
