Harley's pov

First days were always difficult, but my first day at Marvel studio had my stomach doing somersaults. Scarlett spent time giving RDJ, Chris, and Seb my numbers so they could all wish me good luck over text. Even with their kind words, I couldn't help but feel thrown into the deep end as I drove up to the Marvel lot. I'd chosen a more lowkey car than usual, my 1970s Dodge Challenger pulling up next to the security box.

"Sorry miss, but this is a closed set"

"I'm the new stunt coordinator. Feige hired me personally"

"And I'm the queen of England. Look lady, Kevin told me he was hiring a UFC world champ for the position and I'm guessing that's not you"

"Look I would love to entertain your sexist ego, but I've got places to be. So, either check your database and your ego, or I'll call Kevin down here personally and you can answer to him"

The guard went quiet at my words, mumbling angrily as he went back into his little booth and typed something into his computer. I smiled as he realised who I was, knowing Kevin had mentioned me in the morning meeting with staff. He opened the gates without another word, so I winked at him when I went through. Parking was a breeze as I had been given Kevin's personal space until he could get one sorted for me.

"Scarlett, I'm with you and Lizzie this afternoon. Some assistant just handed me my schedule" I said, running towards Scarlett after I got inside. She swept me into a hug, squeezing me tightly, calming my first day nerves.

"You're going to be great Varon. You look hot today so that's a bonus" she flirted playfully. She pulled me towards where they were filming, RDJ and Evans having a screaming match about stones.

"And cut"

I waved at the guys before everyone made their way to lunch. There were faces of actors I recognised but had never dreamt of meeting now sat all around me. RDJ noticed my excitement, placing a box of sushi in front of me.

"It's sushi Thursday and I didn't want my favourite fighter feeling left out"

Everyone gave a welcoming smile, Lizzie even sat near me and engaged in the conversation. Just before everyone left to go back to work, I decided to do a proper introduction for the people I didn't get a chance to talk to.

"Hey everyone, my name is Harley Varon. I'm going to be your new stunt coordinator. I'm excited to work with and get to know all of you. I'm currently a UFC world champion and I've been training in different martial arts since I was a kid. Please come say hi if you see me around set and talk to me if you need any help"

Lizzie held back when everyone else left. I was surprised at her change in demeanour, she was completely different from the person I met at the dinner party.

"Harley before you go to set, I wanted to apologise for how I behaved at Scarlett's. Robbie's just... protective of me"

I knew protective and Robbie was not it. I bit my tongue, stopping myself from saying the choice words I have for the man.

"Don't worry Lizzie, I can tell you're a lovely person. Did Scarlett give you the tickets to my fight next Friday?"

"Of course. I was so excited to be invited. It took a bit of convincing to get Robbie on board, but we'll be there"

I smiled at the confirmation of her attending but felt annoyed that Robbie would be there, lurking behind her. Talking to Lizzie on her own made me realise how perfect she was. She walked with me to the training room, even linking her arm in mine. Scarlett raised an eyebrow at me, before I got them ready to train.

I got them warmed up and did some punchbag drills before regrouping.

"Lizzie, I'm going to do floor work with you first. Scarlett take five. Lizzie, I need you opposite me. I'm going to show you a basic Jiu-Jitsu takedown. I'll start by doing the takedown myself, with you as the attacker, so you can get a feel for the fall. Then we'll go through it step by step"

Lizzie nodded, stepping onto the mat with me and standing opposite.

"Ready?"

"Yes"

I quickly dropped to one knee, hooking one hand behind her leg and the other on her shoulder. She dropped to the floor, guided down fast but carefully by me. I landed on top of her, our faces inches apart. We stayed there, looking into each other's eyes, the outside world shut off for a second. We were broke out of our trance by Scarlett coughing, pulling away swiftly.

The rest of the fight training was fun, Scarlett doing amazing due to her previous Black Widow work. Lizzie was more nervous after our fall and witnessing Scarlett do everything effortlessly, but I reassured her and she managed to break free from her nerves as the session progressed. At the end she even hugged me, before checking her phone and running off. Scarlett spoke to me about seeing Rose again as we walked out of the lot to my car. As I went to get in, she stopped me by shutting the car door.

"You know Varon, just because Lizzie's in a relationship doesn't mean it'll last forever"

"What?..."

"I see the way you look at her and I see the way she looks at you. Help her realise that Robbie isn't her only option"
