Childhood, Fifth Grade.
"Come on, Tom! We are going to be late for school!" Danielle yelled at him while yanking his arm away from the bowl of cereal he was eating.
"Hey! Can you chill out? I wanted to finish that!" He pouted, then grabbed his backpack and pulled it onto his shoulder.
Danielle and Tom have been best friends ever since they met at school. They hit it off immediately, and soon Danielle was coming over to Tom's house on random days to make sure he went to school.
"Alright, let's go!" Danielle chirped, dragging Tom behind her.
"Why are you so interested in going to school anyways? It's boring." He asked her, crossing his arms.
"It's fun! Now come ON!" She playfully yanked him hard and he straightened. They walked to school together, hand in hand.

Even though Danielle was bullied a lot during childhood, Tom was always there to back her up no matter what. That's why she wanted to go to school, to spend time with him.
They stopped at the school's entrance and Danielle was immediately struck by a ball to her head.
"Ow!" She said, rubbing the spot where the ball hit her. She could see Tom was getting mad, and he looked over to the person who threw it. The boy just stuck his tongue out and ran, but not before getting whacked right in the back by the same ball that he threw a few seconds ago. Tom's aim was true, and everyone knew that.
"Are you okay, Dani?" He asked her, concerned.
"I'm fine, thank you." She started walking towards the big doors of the school, Tom behind her as protection. It wasn't that she couldn't handle bullying, Tom was just always there for her. She smiled to herself, secretly hoping they would stay friends forever.
