Present Day. Flight School.
Tom and Danielle were an unstoppable team, and no one could tell them otherwise. The way they maneuvered through the obstacle courses and "shot" people down during hops, no one could even touch them.
They got into their plane for another exercise. It was just their luck that they were paired with Tony. The tension was high because this was their deciding factor to make it into TOPGUN.
The hatch closed over them and they took off. Danielle immediately began looking around for signs of Tony. She spotted him to the right of their plane.
"Ice, 3 o'clock! He is going to get behind us if we keep going straight!" She said into the private channel.
"I see him, let's do this," he broke right and began slowing down, easing his way in behind Tony.
Tony saw what they were doing and he hit the brakes, causing him to come to a full stop. Tom's instincts kicked in and he went left, going into a dive.
"Watch the altitude!" Danielle warned.
Tom pulled up before he got to the hard deck and went straight again. Tony was getting bored because Tom was only doing basic maneuvers, nothing fancy.
Tony began going towards them and Tom went into a loop, getting behind him. He set the lock to missiles and managed to get good tone.
"Yeah! And that's why they call him 'Iceman'!" Danielle yelled into the main channel.
"Thanks for looking out for me," Tom said.
Both planes landed and Tony got out, stalking away.
"The Admiral requests to see both of you immediately," a commander told them.
"Of course," they said in unison and went to the main office.
"Stealth and Iceman... a dynamic duo and the best pilots here. I suppose you have heard of TOPGUN before?" the Admiral asked them.
"Yes, sir," Danielle responded with confidence.
"I've seen enough to know you two will do great things, and I am sending you to TOPGUN. Pack your belongings, you are going to Miramar," he finished.
"Thank you, sir!" They both saluted and went to their dorm area. They packed their stuff up into bags and went to sleep.
The next morning, they were transferred to Miramar, where they stood before the naval base of Fightertown, USA.
Little did they know, the competition would be nothing like they've ever seen before...
