Fishin' In The Dark

The only people Sae had spoken to over the last week. Were Topper, Sarah, JJ, and of course her parents. She barely left the house. Spending a lot of her time out by the pool. Sarah had stopped by once, two days ago.
Just checking in on Sae, and they ended up paddle boarding out for a bit. Sarah, unfortunately, hadn't gotten the chance to talk with Rafe. Stating that he was rarely home recently.

Sae was really grateful for Sarah's kind heart, and her wanting to hang out. They actually got along, just like when they were younger. Making Sae wonder, why they'd drifted apart in the first place?

Topper had taken to calling her every morning, to check in for himself. Sae didn't mind, and it actually worked out well. Seeing as JJ kept up his routine of calling her every evening. Except she had been the one to call him the last few days.
Having become board, being home on her own for most of her time. She hadn't seen him since last Friday night...

Even now, it was Saturday evening, a solid week since her fiasco with Wren. She hadn't heard from, or contact Wren, or Emma.
She hadn't heard anything from Rafe, except that he'd become awol.
She was starting to feel really icky. Like, she couldn't gain her control back, so she was stuck. Like that mosquito in the tree sap from Jurassic Park...
She'd also been biding her time with movies.

She was beginning to feel like a hermit crab. Keeping to herself so often. If it hadn't been for Sarah coming over Thursday, Sae might've actually remained inside like a hermit...

She was currently out by the pool, or rather, in the pool.
The news had been predicting a hurricane, set to make landfall in a few short days. So Sae wanted to make the most of the current decent weather, before hurricane Agatha caused a shit show.

She was lounged out on one of the pool floats, with a magazine in hand. One she'd snagged from her mother's 'office'.
Her hair was damp, seeing as she'd just gotten out of the water minutes ago. And she wore her navy blue bikini. It was quiet, aside from the birds making noise up in the trees, and the water beneath her... nothing could ruin the peace—
Nothing.... Except her phone ringing.

She was going to ignore it, but then again, it could be an emergency? She wasn't at the deep end of the pool, so she merely slid off her float, and into the water. Bringing the magazine with her, only to toss it onto the patio. The water was waste deep, but she could still reach her phone from the pool. She'd sat it on the edge of one of the pool side lounge chairs.

J
With JJ's obnoxious contact picture flashed across the screen.
It was kinda early to be hearing from him?

"Yes~" she answered with a sing song tone. Leaning her elbows onto the edge of the pool.

"Whatcha doin?" He mocked her tone, as rustling could be heard in the background.

"Soaking up the sun, why? What do you need?"

"Why would I need anything? I can't just call?" He teased.

"Hmm. You always 'just call' but it's usually not this early in the day?"

"Ooh? Do you keep up with my call schedule? Wait by the phone every night, just to hear from me?"

"With bated breath." She deadpanned, not having to hide her amused smile.

"I knew it."

Sae laughed lightly at his teasing.
"So what do you want JJ?" She questioned.

"Well, As long as you're not busy—"
