Before Grayfia caught up to Y/n, he made it up the mountain peak to find a woman in a white kimono facing towards his mother's grave. It baffled him as to why someone would go to the grave since he was the only one who knew of the old cemeteries location. He walked forward to confront the woman but stopped when he recognized her.
Y/n:"M-momma?" He questioned. She turned around revealing herself to him.

Shuri:"Oh, my son." She gave off her bright, beautiful smile as she would have always done before.
Y/n started to tear up and slowly walk up to her, reaching out with his right arm. He touched her face to confirm it was actually her, laughing and crying at the same time.
Y/n:"I thought I lost you mom. I thought I'd never see you again."
Shuri:"Oh, Y/n, life is full on unexpected things. Some make you cheerful...and some break your heart." She grabbed hold of his hand and kissed his forehead.
Y/n broke down and gave her a big hug, refusing to let go of her. He slouched down on his knees while Shuri gently stroked his head.
Y/n:"I-I wasn't there when you needed me. I left you when you needed me the most..."
Shuri:"It hurt so much, Y/n. It felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest when you left. But all hardship is temporary, do you know this? And most of it is inevitable." He felt guilt hit him when she brought up him leaving all those years ago. Shuri felt him shake so she continued explaining.
Shuri:"I had to stay behind so that you could leave...and now you're the one in trouble. Do not worry for me... my troubles are over, my son.
Y/n:"I don't wanna go back out there, I can't do this anymore..."
Shuri:"You are strong, Y/n, we are survivors you and I. We keep fighting even when we do not know how. You cannot help but be my son."
Y/n:"I found Akeno, momma...I wanted you to see her...see how much she's grown."
