Love Preserving

Into many bits, her heart was shattered
She could not form her affectionate smile
She would recall her home that was battered
Old blurred memories, a brand new lifestyle.

She desired to see him, one last time
He would surely be a sight for sore eyes
And would motivate her into her prime
I wish to cure her woes that agonize

However, this option did not exist.
So, she handled it as best as she could.
I wish to advise her to just persist
But how would I have ever understood?

I asked her, attentively observing,
"Wanda, what is grief if not love preserving?"
