Chapter five Layla Meets others like her Layla's Point of view

Kelp told us that at around four this morning he received the call he's been waiting for. A call from Blanks mama we were also told that Blanks mama is a bull meaning alpha male Selkie which could prove to be a problem because of me being a female however I trust him not to pay me any mind and instead go straight to Blank. TIME SKIP TO WHEN Blank waits anxiously in Cross' arms as they wait for Nightmare and Dream to come with their family. The entire Shiver are gathered a few miles out from the island to meet them partway. Kelp sits with me in his boat with a bag filled with Blank's things, checking his watch and his phone. "They should be here soon." Soon we see Nightmare and Dream with an unfamiliar ship and other mers. Blank's Papa shouts something to the ship, making someone jump from the deck and into the water. They swim ahead of everyone, coming over to the group at a high speed. "Mama! Papa!" Blank wiggles from Cross' arms and starts to swim. Two weeks worth of tears starts to stream down their face as they splash their way over to their parents. "M-M-Mama! P-P-Papa!" Within a blink, they're swept into two pairs of arms. "Blank!"

While Blank has his reunion I'm talking with the Selkie named Blue. "Hi my name is Layla nice to meet you" I say " Hi Layla Im Blue nice to meet you too" he replies "your actually the first the selkie I met that isn't related to me." I explained, "What do you mean?" He questions. I sigh and look around seeing Blank's Mama with Cross, Dream and the shiver and the other mers I make eye contact with Cross and he nodded. I slowly shift into my seal form and slip into the water and swim over all the while keeping eye contact with him. What makes me break my eye contact is a familiar tentacle wrapping gently around me and quickly pulling me to its owner. I snuggle into Night's body, his and Dream's body temperatures are mingling pleasantly and I sigh pleasantly "Cross I decided that it's time to tell them about Blank's birth mother, My sister" I say everyone but Night, Dream and the shiver looks surprised. Cross looks hesitant but nods so I explained and now I need to calm my date mates. I start gently bumping my face against each one of the shiver's skulls. After calming the shiver I start on my two leviathans. I allow Dream to cling to me while I talk Night down from trying to drown some mortals in his anger with what happened to me,Blank and Cross. (A couple of days later.) I am getting fed up with all this damn arguing. I understand WHY but that doesn't mean I like it. While I'm stewing on this Blank comes up to me and asks me if we could go hunting together. I agree and then we are off after telling Horror and of course Reaper but we don't tell anyone else we want them to sweat a bit. While we are out we see a sea-horse mer named Core who helps us carry our catch back. We return to utter chaos "Where are they? WHERE ARE THEY?" "I d-d-don't know!" "Are you sure they went out to fish in the kelp forest? I checked there five times, Dream." "That's where they usually go to play and hunt. If they're not there, then they should be at the reefs. I'll look there, you check the kelp forest again, Ink. Just in case." "I am the worst Papa ever!" "Excuse me," the seahorse mer calls out to the adults, gaining their attention. "If you're looking for Blank, they're right here." "Blank!" In an instant, Blank is scooped up by their Papa. "Papa was so worried. Where were you, sweetheart? We were looking everywhere for you!" Blank tilts their head quizzically. "Bwank go hunt pwetty fishies. Bwank tell Papa dis mo-nin'." Then, after a beat, they admit, "Papa fite Dwee an' Nai so maybe no listen. But it okie!" Blank holds out their bag of fish. "Bwank bring pretty fishies to make happy! No more fite now?" Unbeknownst to Blank, the faces of all Leviathans crumple in guilt at their words. "Papa's sorry, Blank. I didn't want to share you with the others, so I was pretty rude and started a lot of fights. I'm sorry, Nightmare. Dream. Forgive me?" "Nonsense." Nightmare crosses his arms and looks away, flustered by Reaper's earnestness. His tentacles curl and uncurl nervously despite his attempts to keep a straight face. "It's natural to feel possessive over your own. I admit, I wasn't the best of hosts during your stay here, so I have some part of the blame." "There is nothing to forgive, Reaper," Dream agrees quickly. "And I'm sorry too."Blank beams as everyone makes their peace with each other. Their fish plan worked! All five of the leviathans flinch at my stare. For some reason they might think that I'm gonna take Blank away which is silly as Blank loves each and every one of the same and just wants all the fighting to stop as do I. When I tell them that they all flush for some reason. It takes Dust explaining what I said to make me flush as well so to amend that previous statement I say "I meant that I just want the fighting to stop just like Blank not that I love any of you other than Dream and Nightmare but Blank does love all of yall " I swim up the leopard selkie who Blue tells me is named Geno and smile at him as bright as I can and say "thank you for taking care of Blank when I couldn't." he replies with "of course I couldn't just abandoned one of my own." We spend the next few days talking about Blanks life with him before we reunited and then he asked something that made me blush "so who's the leader" "Horror" I reply when suddenly I felt Night grow big and sighed headed out to see the leviathans but Dream and Error compete to see who is bigger and better eventually Chara and Blank gets Error to agree and he grows to full size for a few tense seconds when Dream motions me over and whispers in my ear that I should come with him when he grows so that I can impress the kids more than the others. We do and I head back into the ship very tired layed down for a nap.
