(Maria's POV)

Maria gathered up the files and arranged them. She checked her wristwatch and cursed under her breathe.

"Why must you always forget the time?" She murmured as she made her way out of the complex.

Since last week she had been in night shift which had just ended and she couldn't be more grateful.

‘I just need to get to the bus on time.' And submit the damned laptop to her boss.

She rushed out of the building while balancing the bag and the laptop bag on her hands.

She was so carried away with thinking about how to get home before midnight that she didn't noticed a car coming straight towards her.

The car came to a screeching halt in front of her with just some millimeters away from her legs.

Maria's eyes bulged with fear and shock. But the most shocking of it all was the fact that the laptop had been broken also leaving some scratch marks on the car.

To top it all, the car was looking expensive. Probably more than all of her lives savings combined.

But that wasn't the case. The case was her boss's broken laptop.

The driver of the car stepped out and came to the side where she stood rooted.

"I think that scratch looks really deep, Miss." A voice said and she jerked her head up.

She gave the man a once over. The man looked fit and well into his mid twenties. He wore a professional smile.

"How am I receiving the compensation?" He said jeering her from her thoughts.

"What?!" She asked and the man stared at her with a raised brow.

"I asked how I am receiving the compensation to the damage done." He eyed her, probably sizing her up.

She gave him a dirty look and scoffed, "Look here, ahjussi. You broke my laptop too."

He inclined his head to the side while gazing at her intently. "That can be fixed. But you see, this car is a new car. My boss just bought it and you scratched it."

Maria scowled at the man. "Well, ahjussi, pay the money for the laptop repair. You were so careless while driving. If you had driven a bit slower you would have known that someone was about to cross the road ahead of you."

The man's lips thinned, but he still maintained a calm facade on his face. "Well, if I deduct the money for your laptop from the money of repair of my car, how much do you think you would still be paying?" He asked.

"I don't know?"

"Let me make a rough estimate for you. The repair of the car cost over 2 million won and that's because my boss is being really generous,"

Maria scoffed in disbelief. Is this man for real? All he could think about is money? He had almost hit her with his car and he feels nothing is wrong except for his damned car? And who is this damned boss?

"Listen up, ahjussi. I am not paying you a damn. Are you even listening to yourself? I don't care when you bought your car. You almost hit me with your car and broke my laptop but then you have the cheeks to ask for compensation for your goddamned car?!"

The man was taken aback by her rant. He never expected it. And Maria couldn't have cared less if he is hurt. She is already in enough trouble to engage this man in a nonsensical argument which is likely to result in nothing fruitful.

"Are you really sure about that?" The man asked inspecting her face.

She glared at him before bending down to pick the laptop up. She grimaced when the saw the condition of the screen. It had a cracked screen at the left side of the screen but aside from that everything is fine.
