[It's a double update, make sure you read the first chapter before this.]
"You bitch!" Madam Go yelled with eyes full of rage.
"It isn't what you're thinking ma'am" Maria tried to defend herself.
"She slapped me, wifey." Mr. Go whined his hand still placed on his red cheek which had fingerprints embedded.
"He came unto me again, you have to believe me." Maria tried again.
Madam Go stared between her husband and Maria. Mr. Go walked towards his wife. "You remember I told you she is up to no good. She disrespected me right in front of you and you're going to let it go?"
Maria's eyes widened at the words he was saying. How can he blatantly lie even in her face?
Madam Go glared at Maria obviously believing her husband. "I knew that you are no good the moment you walked into my company. And now you're trying to seduce my husband in my home?"
Maria was at a loss of words. What is this? How can this be happening to her. Why is this happening to her.
"I am not trying to seduce anyone, he is lying!"
Pah!!! A slap landed on Maria's face.
With bulging eyes Maria turned to look at the woman she called a boss. The woman whom she had admired the first day she started to work under her. The woman who had gotten her to where she was now.
But the woman standing in front of her is bitter, jealous and easily manipulated because of a man who whores around with younger girls.
Madam Go stared daggers at Maria. "You're fired!!!" She yelled. "Get out of my house I don't want to ever see you again or else I will strangle you with my bare hands."
Maria dropped the laptop carefully on the table beside where she stood. She looked at Mr. Go who had a smirk plastered on his disgusting face and then she looked at Madam Go whose hatred for her could clearly be seen with the way she was panting with rage.
Maria bowed before making her way out of the house. As she walked out of the house, the female servants all looked at her with sympathy.
She held her head high and sauntered out of the vicinity. As much as she needed the job to survive, she also needed her dignity too.
Maria walked around for a while before making her way back to her apartment. She plopped down on the couch which she had bought from a thrift shop a year ago while dropping her bag on the floor with a faint thud.
She laid her hand across her face with one leg and hand touching the floor. She blinked at the ceiling but it was getting blurry.
Why is her life so dramatically sad? All these dramas are not her style but was she to expect when she is a black.
She felt a prickly feeling behind her lids but no she won't let them out. Huffing out a breathe, Maria stood up.
She glanced around the apartment. Her stomach grumbled and she laughed.
Ah, what a feeling. No matter what happens the stomach still wants food.
Pulling her hair into a messy bun, she started to whip out ingredients for making pancakes.
There is one thing she is glad she does. That is stock up on the groceries every month. Right now, there is enough food to last her a month or two till she finds another job.
