I pulled up to the Warrens home well around three, Drew's car was in the road and the kitchen light was on.
I looked back and grabbed the ouija board before I stepped out of my car and went to knock, the door was quickly thrown open to show an obviously worried Lorraine. She quickly pulled me into a hug, "Valerie, where have you been?!" She yelled as she let me go and looked me over.
"Are you okay?" Ed asked as him and Drew walked over to the door making me look confused.
I didn't get a word out before Drew pulled me into a hug. Ed took the bored from my hands, allowing me to hug Drew, comforting him.
"We were worried sick" Drew muttered making me sigh, "I had to pull over and rest for a bit. I could barley keep my eyes open" I informed. "It's good.. good you pulled over to rest" Ed stated as Drew let me go.
"So what do we do now?"
"Me and Lorraine are going to check out the house for anything else in the morning. You're going to bed" Ed stated as he looked at Me then Drew. "What?" I asked causing Drew to grab my hand.
"Maybe it's for the best" Drew insisted making me sigh. "We'll call if we think that the house feels off.. but you need the rest, you've been up all day" Lorraine insisted making me sigh before I smiled, "Yeah.. you guys owe me" I chuckled before I gave them a small wave, "Night guys" I stated.
"Goodnight, Valerie".
I looked out the window of the kitchen, staring at the road hoping to clear my head. I felt arms wrap around my waist making me jump and look behind me to see Drew, "Damnit Drew" I muttered as I wiped my face with a small chuckle. "Sorry Val.. I woke up and you weren't there.. why are you awake?" Drew asked as he laid his head on my shoulder.
I bit my lip, should I tell him the truth? Another stupid nightmare? Or just tell him I couldn't sleep?.. I know he deserves the truth but he just worries..
"A nightmare" I informed as I turned to look at him and wrap my arms around his neck. "Val.. this isn't good. You're loosing sleep and–" "I'm okay" I insisted as I laid a hand on his face.
"What was the nightmare?" He asked, not falling for my behaviors.
I frowned, "That family I saw.. just a sad story but.." I stopped and shook my head. "I'm okay–" "Valerie, details.. please" Drew interrupted.
"The mother and youngest died in a car crash.. I don't remember how long ago it was. Maybe last year" I stopped and Drew looked at me intently. "The Youngest.. Theodora reaches her hand out to me and I took it.. she told me to lean in and I did, she whispered in my ear that her Dad and Big Brother were in danger.. her big sister was safe for now though" I told Drew before I walked away from him.
"Valerie–" "Then I see the house and when I turn she's gone.. then I walk into the house and.. The Dad.. he's terrified and his son, who doesn't believe in ghosts and what we do.. just as scared.. maybe even more so, and he had his arms around his Dad and he's just shaking.. and he has this.. scratch on his back.. this big red scratch" I muttered as I looked at the clock I could briefly see in the run rise.. seven in the morning.
"I'll tell Ed and Lorraine we're coming" Drew sighed, "We're bringing the van just in case. I'm driving" Drew informed me making me shake my head, "I love you" I smiled making Drew stop and look at me. "You don't have to say it back. I just wanna let you know" I told Drew before I continued to walk.
