Gensokyo Expeditionary Group

Prologue

  Gensokyo is the place where all magic and spells happen. A place where all problems can be solved by danmaku duel. But that time has long since passed, and Gensokyo wasn't the place it used to be. One day, one Youkai started dragging people from the Outside World as she pleased, including their technologies. Her actions made Gensokyo face the new world unprepared. The more she drags, the more people and technologies come in and something inevitable will take its toll.

  Gensokyo has changed, magic and spells are no longer used by most. Technology advances start to create more villages and cities. Race for power occurred and some of the strongest became Lords and Ladies. Those who are caught in the middle can only hope for their life. Unfortunately, the more technologically advanced the more tensions sparked among the Lords and Ladies. War for Gensokyo then begins for something they called "Peace", but like all wars, no good will come either you're the Winner or the Loser.

  Then, one realm created a force that called the 'Gensokyo Expeditionary Force' consisting of any races on Gensokyo. They're tasked to scout enemy realms and then report back, thus making them rarely used in open combat. But someday the leader of their realm decided to take this force for frontline troops for upcoming battles. Although rarely being combat situations, they proved to be an excellent force because of their fierce fighting and high obedience.

  Gensokyo Expeditionary Force soon became the most feared force in all Gensokyo. Enemies will tremble as they march to the battlefield. Civilians also respected them highly and didn't dare to make them upset. This wasn't long though before one of their groups was tasked to scout Scarlet Devil Mansion. Their mission was simple but they hadn't returned for 2 days, making the commander furious. Then, after getting no news from this group the commander decided to strike down the mansion.

  The siege lasted for 14 days and there was a bloodbath. Friend and Enemy corpses are lying everywhere. This scene makes the leader of this group go mad and decide to report this nonsense to his Lady. To stop his action, the commander successfully takes the enemy commanders, making them prisoners, and threatening to kill them if he reports this. His instinct to protect the weak makes him hold his intention. Unexpectedly the commander betrayed him by knocking him unconscious. When he was sober, the commander was nowhere to be found, making his chance to appear. He also sees the prisoners weren't there either and the siege was already abandoned. His trusted man soon greeted him then told him that the commander had been taken to their realm by prisoners from before. They also said that the one who defeated the commander was the thin-mustached one. With no other thoughts, they back to their realm and find their commander and prisoners in front of their Lady. The prisoner's news angered the Lady and then sentenced the commander to death. No pleas and cries can save him now as he is dragged to his execution.

  With the greatest gratitude, she thanked all of them and officially disbanded the Gensokyo Expeditionary Force as she couldn't bear the shame. But she made exceptions which the group who saved the prisoner's life could still hold the 'Gensokyo Expeditionary' name, allowing them to keep their uniforms and their weapons, and giving them one house on the outskirts of Youkai Forest.

  Now, with the Gensokyo Expeditionary Force already disbanded, they struggle to make a living. Any work and jobs will be done as long as they get paid and are not involved in crimes. They also can take scouting missions as long as they don't get tied with the mission givers and make a promise to not hurt innocent before. True that they're not in poverty but living in the same house with four people proved to be hard. But lives go on and they must stick together to face this new Gensokyo or they'll be perished into non-existent.
