Xiao pov:

I was just standing on the balcony at wangshu inn minding my own business until I heard footsteps behind me."Hey Xiao, I brought you some almond tofu!".I turned around to see traveler with a bright smile on his face and almond tofu in his hands. "Thank you" I said in almost a whisper. "So how have you been, anything interesting happen?" Aether asked me, I shook my head as I started to eat the almond tofu that was given to me.a few minutes of silence pass by and I see Aether get up. "I'll see you around Xiao, I have to do some commissions!" I heard him say as he was leaving. I simply just nodded and watched him leave. Wait something is not right, where was emergency fo- I mean paimon? Wait why do I even care it's not like it matters anyways.

~18:04~

Aether pov:

"Traveler are you alright?!?" I heard paimon scream. "I'm alright paimon, just a few scratches, nothing new!" I said while smiling towards her."those abyss mages where tough tho, I feel like they're getting stronger day by day, don't you?" I asked paimon while we glided down a steep hill. "I don't know traveler, maybe your just getting weak" paimon luaghed at me. "Yea sure emergency food" I said to her. "PAIMONS' NOT EMERGENCY FOOD!" I heard her shout.Shortly after she disappeared, I sighed and continued walking, I set up a camp in a nearby cave and soon drifted off to sleep.

~Tuesday 09:27~

Aether pov:

I open my eyes and see paimon sleeping beside me, I smiled at the site sometimes paimon is the only person that keeps me going through out this never ending journey. I make some sticky honey roast for paimon and another one for myself. Suddenly I hear paimon get up and see her eyes sparkle at the sight of the food. "FOOD! " she shouts. "Hi paimon, you can start eating im nearly done cooking mine" I said while smiling. Once we finished eating we set off on our journey, we where heading to liyue harbour, clearly we must have gone the wrong way because we ended up near wangshu inn. Paimon pointed out a weird looking exquisite chest that seemed hydro enhanced, that's weird? I thought to myself. As I came close to the chest suddenly a ruin guard 2 hydro abyss mages and a few hilichurles appeared in front of me, 'great' I thought to myself as I began to fight them off. After defeating and abys mage and a few hilichurles more enemies appeared, suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my arm, I looked to see why it hurt so much and saw a ln arrow in my arm, after another attempt of fighting all the enemies I was exhausted and beaten up, I felt myself slowly fall as everything went black, all I could hear is oaimons screams and cries before I drifted off into the dark.

~few minutes later~

Xiao pov:

I was just in my room in wangshu inn, I decided to go on a walk, suddenly I saw someone on the ground with enemies about to end his life, 'what in the archons is going on' I taught to myself as I ran towards the person. The closer I got the more I realised that person was non other then the traveler himself. I quickly finished off the enemies off and brought Aether back to wangshu inn and I started treating his wounds. As I was taking the arrow out of his arm I realised he woke up. "Xiao?" The blond questioned as he looked around, only to realise that he was in Xiaos' room. "Aether, what in the teyvat happend out there." I said in a cold tone. I didn't mean to sound rude, I was worried for the traveler, I knew he was strong so I wasn't sure why he would talk down and nearly get himself killed by a few hilichurles, abys mages and a ruin guard?"I... Um... I just didn't realize there where hilichurles behind me and they shot me in the arm, but the arrow seemed to have something on it and well.. I passed out."The blonde said as he looked down at the floor, clearly embarrassed of being weak. As I was cleaning up travelers wounds I suddenly heard a painful hiss, I realized I out the wrong herb onto the wound which caused a small reaction. I don't really know how to help to with wounds because I never do it myself since I'm used to the pain. "Sorry" I managed to say. "It's alright, I suppose your not used to treating wounds, since your used to pain and don't do it yourself." The traveler spoke with a reassuring smile. "I'm sure one day you'll get the hang of it!" He said with joy. I simply nod in agreement and finish up. "Thank you Xiao, I'll be heading out now, I still have exploring to do." Aether said as he tried to get up. I quickly pulled him back and said, "Aether you need to rest, you can stay here for the night, alright." Aether just looked at me in confusion, he was probably wondering why I was being so nice, the truth is, I like Aether, maybe even a bit more then just friends. But of course, I wasn't going to tell him that, Not yet at least. "Alright but where will you sleep?" He questioned. "The adepti don't need sleep." I quickly answered. "Hey you need to rest too!, it's only fair that way." He said while looking at me."Fine, only this once." I said not thinking about the fact that there's only one bed- . "Since there's one bed, would it be ok if we shared it, if not I'll just sleep on the floor" aether said, wow he really is too nice. "I wouldn't mind" I blurted out. We headed to bed and quickly fell asleep as it quickly became 21:53.

~01:28~

Aether pov:

I wake up to hearing small cries from the boys beside me, I didn't know what to do so I sat there, waiting for him to wake up. "BREATHE INDARIAS... BREATHE" "YOU CAN'T LEAVE US" The boy cried out as he sat up from where he was lying looking panicked. "Hey, it's alright Xiao, did you have a nightmare? " I questioned the yaksha in front of me. He nodded slightly. I embrace him in a warm hug while calming the poor adepti down. "W-was it m-my fault?" He spoke quietly, but loudly enough for me to hear through his sobs. "It's not your fault, you did everything you could, I'm sure your they are proud of you, proud if the fact that you never gave up on defending liyue, the city of contracts, I'm also proud of you for it." I said while having my own visions slightly blur from tears that started to form in my eyes. "But if I wasn't t-this weak I would have b-been able to save t-them.." He quickly said. "Your not weak Xiao, in fact your one if the strongest people I've ever met." I say with a reassuring smile. It seemed as if that sentence was the final straw, because after those words Xiao fully broke down in my arms. We stayed like that until he stopped crying and the only thing that could be heard where sniffles. We layed down and I held out my arms for Xiao to crawl into, he immediately came into the embrace and held on to me for dear life. I brushed my fingers through his hair in order to calm him down, soon enough sleep took over both of us with moonlight shineing in the room.
