Alasdair Maven Wolf

"How heartless can my friends be?!"

- - - -

I opened my eyes, seeing many blurry figures hunching over me. I recognised one of the figures as Nate, another as Roxi, and two other of the figures, as Bellamy and Octavia. I muttered, "You're a fucking idiot, Bellamy."

Octavia replied, "See! I told you!" I smiled weakly as my vision cleared up. Nate remarked, "I thought she died." I questioned, "Wait–What? I died? And none of you are wailing your eyes out? How heartless can my friends be?"

Clarke stated, "You had a seizure and you stopped breathing for a couple seconds, so yes, you temporarily died." I exclaimed, "Holy shit! I've beat death!" quickly sitting up. My stomach burned with pain, causing me to mutter, "That was not a smart idea."

Roxi replied, "No shit, Sherlock." I childishly stuck my tongue out at Roxi which caused Roxi to roll her eyes. I laid back down and Nate sat down in the empty seat next to me. He grabbed my right hand, my non-injured hand, as everyone else left the dropship.

Only Clarke remained in the room and she was helping out Finn. Nate muttered, "I thought I lost you, bean." I hate that nickname. I weakly smiled as I replied, "It'll take a lot more than dying for you to lose me. I mean, I don't know why I was brought here but for whatever reason I am here, and I will succeed like no other."

Nate slightly shook his head as he quietly chuckled at my response. Nate whispered, "Only you, bean. Only you." I shrugged, "Roxi says shit like that all the time." Nate replied, "I'm not close with Roxi, not like you are. Me and Roxi are just acquaintances."

I corrected, "Roxi and I." Nate rolled his eyes, "I don't give a shit about grammar, bean." I retorted, "If you don't care, then why did you teach me correct grammar?" Nate replied, "So I could talk to you easily."

I nodded, now understanding as sleep slowly took me away from consciousness. Nate leaned forward and he kissed my temple, before pulling away. He whispered, "Sleep well, bean," as I closed my eyes, drifting off to sleep.

I woke up, hearing a loud clang. I groaned in pain as I forced myself to sit up. I looked around and my sleepiness removed itself from my eyes. I saw Nate asleep in the chair next to the makeshift bed I was laying on.

I hissed in pain as I forced myself to sit up. My stomach burned with pain and I looked at my shirt. I pulled up my shirt and looked at my bandaged stomach. I heard another sound, and I flinched, letting go of my shirt.

My shirt fell back in place and I heard another loud sound, this time it sounded like thunder. Nate told me about thunder. I shook my head, I don't like thunder. I saw Roxi also asleep, but on the opposite side to my older brother.

I repeatedly tapped Roxi, waking her up after a while. Roxi shot up and was about to snap when thunder sounded again. I violently flinched, forcing my body to curl up into a ball, despite the burning pain it put me through.

Roxi quietly sighed before standing up. She whispered, "Just this once," before carefully pulling me into a hug. I whispered, "Thank you, Roxi." I heard no reply from Roxi as she continued to comfort me through the storm.

I laid in my bed in the tent Clarke had put me in. She also had Octavia and Roxi on babysitting duty, making sure I wouldn't be an idiot and try to do some stupid shit. I sighed as I let my head fall back onto my makeshift pillow.

I groaned in annoyance and Roxi stated, "You're still not allowed to do stupid shit while Tavs and I are out hunting. Alright?"

I agreed, "Fine. I'll stay here." Roxi nodded, "Good. I'll check on you once I get back. Just get some rest." I nodded and Roxi turned around, walking out of the tent. I closed my eyes and let myself fall asleep.

Today's Unity Day. Yay, so much fun! I heard Clarke say, "Finn wants to make an alliance with the Grounders," as I walked out of my tent. He wants a what with who? With the Grounders? The same people who stabbed him? Well...he's most definitely a peacemaker

I saw Clarke talking with Nate and Nate replied, "Well, that's...that's dumb." It definitely is. Clarke spoke quickly, "I don't think so." What is she on?! It's a stupid idea! I walked over to Nate, standing by his side as Clarke continued, "I mean, think about it!" Oh, I am

Clarke exclaimed, "If we aren't fighting with these people, then we won't have to worry about fighting with them and we can survive." Nate asked, "How can we get an audience with them? I mean, I don't think we can count them as the most, er...friendly of neighbours."

Clarke stated, "Finn has already taken care of that." Of course he has! He's the wonderboy! What can't he do?! I sarcastically thought. Clarke continued, "We're meeting at the bridge at first light..." Clarke paused looking over to me.

"And I'd like it if you were there."

I questioned, "Me? Why me?" Clarke stated, "Because they hurt you." I scoffed and rolled my eyes, "So?"

Clarke elaborated, "One of their people hurt you, so if you can show them that you don't hold anything against them, it would show that we're reasonable. Meaning, they're more likely to want to create an alliance between us, because it'll show that we don't want revenge or fighting."

But I do. I questioned, "So you just want me to lie? Cause, I do want revenge. I mean the girl who sliced open my stomach was hot but–" Nate cut me off by slapping my arm. I cursed, "Shit, that hurt, Nate! You didn't let me finish. I was gonna say that I want an eye for an eye."

But an eye for an eye makes the world blind. I continued, "I want my revenge, even if it's just a little bit of it. And I'm the type of gal to get pissed the fuck off when I get killed," throwing my arms in the air at my last sentence. Shit, that hurt, I think as my stomach erupts in pain.

I immediately let my arms drop back down, covering my stomach in an attempt to stop the pain. Well, that didn't work. Clarke stated, "Well, you can't be that gal today," grabbing my arm. She stated, "You need to be forgiving. You forgave me, you can forgive them."

I ripped my arm out of her grip, "Firstly, I've just barely forgiven you. Secondly, you want me to forgive some random ass girl that literally fucking murdered me?!" Clarke paused, "Yes." I sighed, fucking hell. I'm not gonna be able to get out of this

I stated, "Get Roxi to wake me up when we have to go. I'm going back to bed." I turned around, and went back to my tent. I walked into my tent and flopped down onto my bed. I heard Bellamy say, "Knock, knock."

I rolled over, seeing Bellamy standing outside my tent. He asked, "Can I come inside?" I nodded and Bellamy slowly walked inside. He asked, "What was that about?" and I started explaining.
