ON THE 12TH HOUR of the first day of October 1989, 16 women around the world gave birth. This was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible. He got eight of them.
NUMBER EIGHT HAS always wanted more. Yes, being celebrated as heroes around the world may sound ideal, but in reality, being cooped up in an academy for 30 years is not fun. Especially when you're emotionally abusive father injects you with something that stops your body from aging. Extra especially when you're babied and ranked below the cube.
NUMBER FIVE JUST wants a break. 20 days, 2 apocalypses, stupid siblings and time travel troubles. It's a lot for the brain of a 58 year old and the body of a 13 year old to handle. Oh boy, was it about to get a lot worse. Now, the love of his life has disappeared and been replaced by the Sparrow timeline version. And of course, the impending doom of the universe collapsing.
THEY'RE AN UNLIKELY pair, but they must overcome their differences to save the universe, even if they feel like constantly killing each other.
