The next day, the boys and their families hung out all day. They walked around London, went to shops, got lunch, then went to a footie game,
Harry, Louis, Liam, and Zayn were all standing with Mark talking about the players and how the game's are going this season "this is like a different language" Zayn chimes in as they were arguing about which play strategy is best.
They all looked at him and laughed, Liam wrapping his arm around his shoulder and Harry whispering in his ear "you'll get used to it, I promise" "being a football boyfriend is harder than it looks" Zayn giggles "but so worth it" Harry replies, and Louis leans forward and kisses him.
"You don't have to be down here babe you can go sit with Niall if you want" Liam says softly, and they both look up at Niall, who is sharing snacks with Gemma and Lottie while showing them texts between him and Shawn.
"I'm okay, I've heard the Shawn rant about ten times too many" Zayn said, making the boys laugh "you boys want something to eat? It's on me" Mark said, and the boys nodded, walking to the concessions.
Mark was walking ahead of Louis and Harry, who were holding hands and giggling about something. Then follows Zayn and Liam, Liam looking at the other boy's hands, then back at Zayn. He noticed his glance and shook his head, as if denying a request, and Liam looked at the ground disappointed.
After they'd gotten their food, they returned to watching the game. They could all tell that Liam felt off, so Harry asked Zayn if he wanted to take a break from the game and take Liam on a walk to talk, Zayn happily agreed.
They arrived back at the bleachers 10 minutes later, having already walked around the small field. Louis then took Liam to the side to talk to him "what's wrong with you mate?" "Nothing, no, nothing. I just... Zayn doesn't wanna be out to the school, which I get 100%, but I wanna show him off you know. And he doesn't want to because he doesn't want his mom to find out, but how often does his mom talk to teenagers you know?" Liam rambled.
"Mate, you can't force him to come out, you know how hard that is, and we're lucky in our school cause they're already accustomed and they know they'll get fucked up if they say anything. But that doesn't mean they won't try to tattle, and you don't know how hard it is for Zayn to tell his mom. He adores her, but she's so homophobic I wasn't even aloud to come out to her for awhile. And once I was, I wasn't aloud to hang out with him. Zayn put a stop to both of those, but it's gonna mess up a lot of shit if he comes out to her. I won't be able to be friends with him, you won't either. She'll probably ground him from everything, and you know how religious she is. It could be worse, like wayyy worse, it could hurt him Li" Louis said with a somber look on his face.
"I know. God... I'm so fucking selfish, I just... I have a boyfriend Louis, and I can't even kiss him outside of my house" Liam said, one the verge of tears. "I know mate, but you can't make him feel bad for making this decision" "I wasn't trying to" "everyone can tell you'e upset, and I'm sure he knows why. I think you should apologize Li, but I think you should discuss why you feel this way too. But you have no choice but to accept and support him if you wanna be with him"
"Gosh, how are you perfect?" Liam said, looking at his best friend "Sooo, a bit less serious now. How is he, you know... there?" Louis asked giggling, making Liam laugh nervously "we haven't done anything actually" "oh, great, no pressure. I'm sorry for the question" "I just, I would like to... But I don't know how" "how to initiate it? Or how to fuck hum?" Louis asked bluntly.
"Both, and am I supposed to top? How do you know? And how do I know if he wants to?" "Well... 1) everything comes way more naturally then you think, if it's right anyways. 2) Talk about it, or just feel it in the moment. 3) Research doesn't hurt, but you could also just figure it out together" Liam just nods, listening to Louis.
"I just want what you have with Harry" "all it takes is communication and commitment Li" Liam nodded once again.
*Meanwhile, Zayn and Harry*
"Do you know what's wrong with Liam?" Harry asks lightly "I think he's mad that I don't wanna be out yet" "that's valid" Harry nods "but me not wanting to be out yet is valid too, right?" Zayn asks "absofruitly" Harry agrees.
"So how can we be happy if neither of us are wrong? Are we just gonna have to be upset?" Zayn asked. "You just have to find a compromise. You do not have to come out to anyone you don't want to, that is not an opinion Liam gets to have. But it's a concern, and something that can upset him. You just have to talk it through, and he needs to realize that being with you is all that matters. But you need to understand why he's upset as well. I mean, don't you wanna show him off?" Harry says, trying to hide his smile.
"Of course I do, but I can't. What it my mom finds out?" Zayn says with a sad look on his face. "I don't know Z, but you gotta talk to him. Like, just sit and talk, don't hold back anything that you feel".
"I just need a Harry or a Louis, you guys are both so understanding" "It doesn't come naturally, we work at our relationship. The first year I almost broke up with him like 3 times, and I think he did the same, but I knew I couldn't lose him. So I worked towards forming our relationship and we talked about our goals in the relationship and where we wanted to be, who we wanted to be, and we both worked at it".
"How do I know if it's worth working towards?" Zayn asked, looking at his lap "I think I just knew, I mean I know it's soon, but can you imagine not being with Liam?" "Maybe? Is that bad?" He said, looking at Louis again "I don't know, like I said, it's early, you've barely been together. But talk about it, talk about what you want your relationship to look like. And just talk, like really talk" Harry said, just as they approached Liam and Louis again.
"Speak of the devil. Hey baby" Louis said, as Harry approached him "you were talking about me huh?" Harry said, blushing and kissing Louis' cheek "always baby" Louis confirmed "we still winning?" Zayn asked "yeah, we've had a few good plays actually" Liam nodded, and Zayn nodded back.
Once the game ended, Liam and Zayn went to Liam's house to talk. Harry and Louis went to Louis' to ummm... you know ;)
