Omo it's getting too boring here in Benin.....I wrote my entrance exam weeks ago and we haven't even seen the result. I've always been inside and my twin sister had been begging me to follow her to her class but I refuse.

"Kenny.....Kenny" I hear someone shout my name from outside. Before I could even stand up to look for the nuisance that knows me, the person barged in. It was Seun. Boredom have been killing the both of us since we wrote the exam. Either she comes to my house and we spend the whole day together, or I go to her house. But most of the times she comes to my house. Reason being that I didn't like her sister's roommate. She has this huge attitude problem that I didn't like and we are both Yoruba. We might have a clash one day and that's what I'm avoiding.

When I said clash, I didn't mean throwing punches, I mean insults. Ladies and gentlemen, you might have heard that Yorubas are known to be Savage and highly insultive when someone cross their paths. Good. I am one but you would never catch me in the public exchanging words with someone. No , never.

"You don't know how to knock abi" I said giving her a dirty look

"I thought I knocked o, anyways the results are out" she says with excitement.

"Really.....have you checked yours?" I ask agitated

"Yes na.....I even checked yours too, why did you think I came running here" she says grabbing a satchet of water and sitting down

"Bro....you have a phone"I say

"No.....telling you on the phone won't be as sweet as telling you in person". She says. If that even makes sense.

"Ehn, oya tell me.....how was it?" I say

"Calm down jare.....see the way you're tensed up....you had 75%......I had 50" She says.

"Phew.....we made it" I say letting out a  breathe I didn't even know I was holding

"Classes start next week"she says"I have to go home now, I was washing plates when my sister told me about the result then I ran down". She says shinning her teeth

"Just tone down the madness..... we're in Benin....Dem fit beat you and there will be no one you'll report to." I say as I opened the door to escort her

"Must you be rude, anyways if they are beating me won't you try and help me"she says

"My sister....all man for himself o" I say when the aroma of fried puff puff invaded my nostrils. I look around and see a man wearing a green vest with the 'Redeemed Christian Church of God' logo.

"Oh that man, his buns are the best" seun says "come let's get some" . After getting the buns we went our separate ways.

It's Monday morning, the day I've been waiting for is here. I check my phone for time and it was just 3 minutes past 6. No, there was no alarm waking me up. In naija, most of us don't use the alarm, we sleep and hope our ancestors will wake us up and trust me they never flop. You might just be few minutes late but you won't exceed the range of time you planned on waking up.

I go to the bathroom to do my stuffs, not after muttering a few words of prayer though. By the time I was done with dressing up...it was 7:45 already. How slow was I! I was putting on a green or something like the khaki green turtle neck top. Pardon me, I'm not so good with colours. With a pair of blue boyfriend's Jean. Just then I heard the knock it was Seun.

"How far?"I whispered careful not to wake my twin sister up cause I hated to be disturbed in my sleep and I wouldn't do that to someone else.

" Thank God you're ready, I was thinking you'll still be in the bathroom by now" she whispers too with a mischievous smile.

"Well I'm ready now" I say with a fake smile before smacking the back of her head.

"Why are you guys whispering like theives" Taiwo says pointing her flash at us. She was sitted in the corner of the room with one of her earpiece in her ear. She has probably been up the whole time watching tiktok and I didn't even notice the whole time.

"And as predicted, you're wearing your shoes in my house..... Olukini Seun, how many times have I told you not to wear your shoes in my house" She says through gritted teeth. And nite, Taiwo nags a lot.

"But I didn't stain the rug na" she protested.

"Anyways bye, cook for me before I come back"I tell her picking up my bag.

"Buy something for me on your way" she says

"Taiwo.....I laid my edges myself today"  seun says showing Taiwo.

" Hmmm......I thought as much.....you guys should go....you're giving me headache already" Taiwo says shooing us away.

The journey to basement was for 10 minutes or so. We started looking for our class and the people we were asking were just confused student like us. After 15 minutes we were finally able to find our way.

"Ehen you know they said this program is very hard, so to stay focused, we won't have friends, just 2 or 3 max." She says and I laugh.

"My guy, even if you don't have friends, if you're still bound to fail, you'll fail.''i say.

As we entered the hall my heart fell, I was hoping to see a hall filled with handsome guys and beautiful girls. But now I can count only 5 heads in the class.

"Are you jupep students?" The lecturer asked. She was a short woman with a very tiny voice.

" Yes ma, good morning ma" we both said in sync

"Good morning, what are your surnames?" She asks

"Ajibulu" I say

"That's A- g right?" She asks

"A - j" I corrected

"Okay good, this hall....what about you?" She says looking at seun.

"O - l" Seun says.

"Okay , west wing" she says pointing out the directions for her and with that we were separated. I walk to the front seat to settle down for the class but the woman was just preaching since a lot of students will be lost and looking for their class. I just sat there bored out of my mind as she continued preaching and hoping for a better atmosphere.
