Within the space of two weeks,I knew the real meaning of agony. These people just seize every free period to teach us..... even Saturday and Sunday was not left out. School was stressing me out, and my crush hates me. Okay not that I was crushing on him but he dey enter my eye. If you understand. I wanted to be his friend...if at all. But it's like he hates me. I don't know if he did because I know that throughout last week and this week, We shared some weird eye contact....like there was this kind of thing that whenever he was in class, I would surely locate him and find wherever he was sitting. Sometimes I might find him looking towards my direction but that's not what I'm here for. One fine boy with brown eyes cannot come and distract me from getting what I came for in Benin .....
"Daaaannnniiiieeellllaaaa....iI heard today is your birthday" Naomi the class rep came to hug me. She was a slim girl with a rather awkward dress sense. She was beautiful and friendly but I just feel she's faking it. I feel like she's being friendly with everyone because she wants to be popular. Like bruh, she talks to everyone and the conversation was always about herself and all the things she has achieved in life. Don't ask me how I know, i'm a Yoruba girl and every Yoruba girl has the hidden talent of aproko( it's supposed to be gossip....or a way of getting information about someone without their approval). And dear reader, sorry for not informing you that it's a Friday and it's also my birthday.

" Happy birthday love, come let's go to Nadia so I can get a cake for you." Suddenly the warning bells in my head was on. This is someone that we don't talk normally.....she only forces herself on me...I smiled and shook my head....I wasn't going to let her buy me a gift and be indebted to her ....I know her kind.
" Kennnnnyyy.....come I have to show you something" seun had the bad habit of pulling me out when I'm having a conversation with someone...buh now I really appreciate that she's doing it now.
" I'm sorry Naomi....maybe next time" I say smiling as Seun pulled me with her to the alumni building.
" Omo....you just saved my life...what did you want to show me self" i asked as we walked to the alumni building. We got to the alumni building where brought out her two fist
"What?" I was quick to calculate what kind of mischief she was up to cause...I'm a very mischievous human myself and I was thinking she wanted to get her revenge
" Pick one" I tried to read the look on her face buh she was both excited and impatient. Na set up be this o. I picked the one on the left hand and she opened the fist....inside it was a folded paper...and boldly written on it with a blue pen was "CHECK BACK".
"What back?"
"My back now" we both bursted into laughter....omo I was laughing because I was wondering what kind of rubbish she was up to writing something on her back and she was probably laughing at how stupid she sounded. I check her back and written on her back was "CHECK YOUR BAG".
"My own bag that is on my back?" I ask cause I was certain I didn't put down my bag throughout....my bag went wherever I went so I don't understand why an
"Yes na" she says laughing
" I swear if you try anything stupid ehn" I say between my laughter....my laughter was a nervous laughter
...you know that phrase where there was no peace for the wicked...that's what's happening right now.
Earlier today, tied her hair with a stranger's hair in the boss and I got off the bus quickly...she was just laughing cause she knew I was the culprit 🤣...Buh the aunty I tied her hair with her didn't find it funny....she thought Seun did it intentionally cause she was laughing.
She started insulting my guy saying that she won't stay long in uniben if she continues pulling this kind of pranks....my yoruba friend didn't keep quiet too...it turned into an heated exchange of words...I pulled her to class Sha...buh she promised she'll revenge....I Sha dey wait...
Fast forward to the present, I brought down my bag and opened it to check for what she put there. I found a gift box and that melt my heart. I jumped up and hug her buh I was still cautious....don't judge me please.....I would have been at peace if I hadn't committed any crime earlier.
" Wait na....you didn't even check what was inside first" she says and I looked at her suspiciously....I opened the box...and what was inside made a tear drop from my eye....it was the necklace I was planning to order from jumia....we both saw the ad and I said I liked it....I didn't save the picture and it literally skipped my mind....It was a diamond stone necklace with matching earrings. I hugged her tightly..
"Thank you" I say.... under the pendant and earrings was a set of rings....omo this girl was bursting my brain.
" Thank you" I say again.
"You're welcome" she says smiling.
"Now what story are you going to tell Taiwo" I joked as I thought of how Taiwo was going to literally behead Seun if she didn't get a gift for her too.
" I'll settle her when we get home o" she says.
"Danieeeelllllaaaaaaa.....happy birthday" Rex says wrapping his thin arms around me.
" Thank you bruv" I say smiling and picking up my bag to go home
"Where do you stay?" Rex asks
"Ekosodin"...
"Thank God I was looking for who would walk with me home....let's go together" he says tucking his arms in my arms. I still can't get over the way he sometimes acts like a girl ....buh trust me, Rex is a very loveable human.
"Rex this is my best friend....her name is marvellous" I say...cause I knew he was going to be finding it to pronounce Seun.
Soon, we all started talking like long lost friends and we started narrating how our 2 week has been. Hearing from everyone's point of view...seems like everyone had had their fair share of shege. We parted ways as Rex stayed at Newtown street while I and Seun stayed at Edo street...
I got home exhausted and decided to relax as my sister had gone to her class. I decided to go online and I saw a lot of love as my friends had posted several pictures of me and my sister just then a strange number texted me...

ME: what's up....who is this please?
