The band began a song called "Knob Filled Knickers" which sounded like a shitty mix between Black Sabbath and Weird Al Yankovic.
Clive ordered another drink and observed the band. He recognized Crunch on the drums, and Murdoc at the mic singing his god awful lyrics about "loving knobs" or whatever; it was hard to make out over all the mic feedback.
He noticed a man wearing large sunglasses and a turban on keyboard, a man similar to Murdocs stature wearing a biker cap on guitar, and towering over everyone was another guitarist.

Definitely an interesting array of people, but Clive wasn't really interested enough to care. He ordered yet another beer and started talking to Dolly again,

"You know I didn't say it earlier, but I like that dress."

"you do?" Dolly's tone was dry and sarcastic.

"Yeah, hey I was thinking... you think I could borrow it sometime?" Clive smiled and started dramatically running his hand through his hair "y'know, I really think it would bring out my eyes."

Dolly turned to him with a cocked eyebrow "mhm"

"Aye of course it works wonders on you, but I think I could do it one better" he smirked and inched closer to her face, arms crossed.

Darting between his eyes, Dolly let out a laugh, "You're insane you know that right?"

"Only for you~" he cooed and kissed her hand again. This time pausing for a second, staring deep into her eyes. "Want another drink?"

"Alfonzo is already making me a gin and tonic" she placed her hand in her lap before briefly flashing Clive a small smile and turning back towards the bar.

Alfonzo. Clive guessed that was the bartender. "Hey can I have a cig? I ran out"

"In my bag" she sighed "hand me one too, will you?"

Clive reached into the bag and delicately opened the pack of cigarettes, he placed one in between his teeth, and handed her another before lighting his own. Dolly set the cigarette in her mouth as Clive placed the lighter on the table, inching closer towards her. The end of his cigarette shining a bright orange as it reached the end of hers, lighting it. She blushed.

Bingo. That's exactly what he was looking for.

He inhaled the thick smoke, and turned towards the band again. Murdoc was introducing their second song, "Shagged Til' Sunrise"

"You know, you look like you'd fit right in on stage with them" Dolly joked, shining a bright mischievous smile towards Clive

He took a long drag off his cigarette, "Really?" He faced her again "the only thing I agree with is their song titles."

"Oh please, shut up."

"Hey I'm agreeing with you!" He chuckled "We can leave here if you want, I just want another drink first."

"We can stay a bit longer, I could go for another round too. I just need the bathroom." She kissed him on the cheek, hopped off her stool, and headed off.

Alfonzo came back around and dropped off Dollys' gin and tonic "Another beer for you?" He gestured towards Clive

"Ah, I think i want to go a little stronger this time around. Scotch."

"Alright." He began pouring the drink "I don't know how you do it man, I've seen countless couples come in with the same story your girlfriend gave me and none of them make it home together."

"Girlfriend? Ha, no. We're not like that." Clive cringed at that word. "I mean yeah we've been on a date, and live together, but we aren't together."

"Hey, don't shoot the messenger." Alfonzo placed the drink down and walked off.

"Messenger?" Shit, did that mean Dolly was telling people she was his girlfriend? He took a swig. They had never put a label on anything. Another swig. Hell, did this mean she was getting attached? A final swig. "Hey, another over here!"

Alfonzo gave him a look, a look that read 'never mind, guess I was right'.
