Constantine's pov
After death continued to yell at me for over an hour, he finally gave me an order to kill Mr.Castor.
Don't get confused though, killing a Demond is a lot harder than TV makes it. You don't just perform a fancy exorcism, you need a reapers blade and you have to do it during the day. But demons are smarter than people think. They're quick and can escape easily. To kill a demon you have to catch it by surprise, witch will be really hard now because Mr.Castor has seen me. Every strategy I could use flowed through my head while I wake down the long corridor that led to my room. The best reapers got black cloaks, and the best housing. Lots of us didn't usually go into are rooms, since we are always busy. But death ordered that I take today off so I could think about how I would take care of Mr.Castor. The reaper that stayed in the room next to me had to cover my appointments for the rest of the day. I think his name was Francis, but usually we just call each other reaper. Francis walked out of his room and we made awkward eye contact, I knew he didn't want to take my shift for me and he knew that I was gonna sit in my room all day.
I had nothing. every plan I came up with would have something wrong with it. There was nobody to help me with killing the demon and the only plan that could possibly work has to have somebody distracting Mr.Castor. Alerts had bin going off all day. Each reaper has a screen in there room that will show an alert when a job needs to be done, usually a red or purple reaper will take the job. Some jobs however, are strictly for black reapers. The scream had bin flashing all day because of my "day off". Francis was doing a good job keeping up with both of are schedules, but it's unreasonable to think he could cover all of mine. One job however wasn't scheduled, usually all of the jobs have bin scheduled and just can't be done. Certain jobs though, are a surprise, they pop up unexpectedly and who ever is closest had to take them. It's are only real emergency in the underworld. Francis happened to be the closest when an emergency flashed across the screen. I pressed play on the screen, wanting to watch how it went. There had bin are car crash, two trucks had collided. but the only thing I was focused on was Jennifer.
She was there. Her face was full of shock when Francis looked towards her her. I watched her mumble to herself and when Francis started to walk towards her, her eyes filled with panic. I knew every reaper by a screen would be watching, during every emergency we all watch as a sort of safety measure. Francis wasn't supposed to reap Jennifer though, and everyone knew that. The glow of her life was smaller than everyone around her and its color was reddish instead of white, that meant she had about 4 weeks to live, give or take a day or two. so I knew every reaper watching was really confused when Francis started walking towards her. However, it all made sense when I saw a car speeding towards Jennifer's. the driver was a 18 year old boy that was texting, in aware of the reck only 200 yards in front of him. Jennifer was to focused on Francis to see the boy. Francis placed his hands on the hood of Jennifer's car and just before the boy slammed into her Francis shoved the car back. the car behind Jennifer had already taken an exit do the boy zoomed past her front end strait through Francis, who walked away from Jennifer's car like he didn't just save her life.
The screen flickered and shut off, I was alone again.
