As I walked to the parking lot i couldn't stop thinking about what I had seen in the cemetery, and what it said to me. The way it's voice sounded like shards of glass cracking. The creature looked like something strait out of a horror film.
It had a scull for a face, seemingly made out of black smoke, like a jar full of thunder clouds. Balls of green fire danced in the assumed eye sockets,
Starring strait into my soul.Getting to my parking spot I was not met by my old chevy truck, Instead a jet black 1964 ford fair lane sat in its place.
My car was gone!
I couldn't deny that the car in my spot was a beautiful car, but my car was missing! I looked at the curb to double check that it was my spot. I always knew it was my spot by the red splatters from when I spilled paint were there. The faded splotches stained back at me, so where was my car?!looking close at the fair lane I noticed that there was a piece of paper tied to the front handle. On it my fathers elegant hand writing read happy 23rd b-day! Hope you like it, love dad :)!
I could believe I was awake. I looked around several times and blinked, eventually I pinched myself so much that I convinced myself I wasn't dreaming. He bought me a freaking car! I quickly yanked my phone out of my pocket and called him, answering on the first ring the first words he said where "do you like it?" He had been waiting for my call "Dad of course I love it, it's my dream car! But where did you find it? And what happened to my truck?"
I answered in a fast, excited voice. "Your mom took the truck and I've bin working on the car for a while, I finished about two days ago so I gave it to you as a birth day present!" My father sounded extremely proud of himself and I was beyond happy that he gave me the car. "Where are the keys?" I asked before he could hang up. "In the front seat." He quickly answered, but before I could thank him I heard the line cut off. I stood there for a second starting at my brilliant new car. It's shining black paint reflected the gold sunlight back at me, and the clear windows showed the red interior that fit the old cars personality perfectly."Excuse me?" A strong voice said directly behind me. I squealed mortifyingly as I spun around. I hadn't even heard someone walk up, but all my thoughts fell of their tracks as soon as I locked eyes with the stranger.
Standing in front of me was probably the hottest guy I've ever seen. He had dark chocolate choppy hair that was styled to look messy, his jaw bone sharp and strong, and his emerald eyes seemed to glow compared to his dark hair.
He somehow looked really familiar, but it wasn't his face, it was the weird vibe that I was getting from him. It was a kind of a unsettling feeling, there was something off about him. He was about four steps away from me and just stood there looking at me "um can i help you?" I winced internally, it sounded harsher than I had intended. His facial expression didn't change at all as he answered me with a dark smooth voice "Im the new employee, Mr.Castor said that a woman named Jennifer red would show me around. He told me that she would be in the parking lot and since your the only one here im assuming that you're Mrs.red."
I flushed, i had no clue I was supposed to show this guy around! Mr.Castor never said anything to me! I stared at him with a blank face trying to mask my embarrassment. "Um........... Ya follow me." As I walked him through the office I was glad I wasn't wearing heels, it was silent in the building and this guy seemed to not make a sound when he stepped.
"Um, this is the meeting room, that's the break room, this is my office and that one over there should be yours." he didn't seem to be listening to be, his eyes looked glazed over and he only nodded and hummed his answers. "Are you even listening to me?" I asked when we stopped in front of Mr.Castors office. He stared me for a moment before saying "no" like it was obvious or normal that he didn't care.
"Mrs.red, I haven't listed to you this whole time." I held up a hand to stop him. "First off It's Jen, just call me Jen. Second, it's Ms.red if you want to call me that, I'm not married. Third, if you haven't bin listening or caring about what I'm saying then why didn't you say so?!" I've been wasting my time when this dude for no reason! The guy looked at me with a small smirk on his face, and if I wasn't so angry I would be drooling over him. Randomly his sharp jaw twitched a little and his smirk vanished, something flashed in his eyes, anger? "Okay Jen." He said in a hard tone." We should leave anyway, it's getting late."
I almost took a step back at how angry he sounded but he wasn't directing it to me, he seemed to be frustrated with something else. "Are you okay?" I asked with a soft voice. His emerald eyes met mine and I realized this guy was tall, like 6 ft 4 tall. His eyes seemed to bore into my sole and I almost looked away, but he answered in a strained voice . "I just remember that I have some thing really important to do and I really need to leave." He turned to walk out and I followed, struggling to keep up with his fast pace. "Wait! I never got your name!" I shouted as he walked towards his motorcycle. He stopped suddenly and spun on his heal, "it's Constantine, Constantine real." Then jumped onto his black Honda shadow and slipped a black helmet on, his leather jacket and dark jeans only added to his amazing looks. As he drove off I could help to think to myself Constantine sounds like a really old name.
