I've Got A Dream

Izuku felt Hitoshi touch his hand a few times as they walked side by side down the cut path, as if he wanted to hold it. Was this a frequent occurrence? Izuku was unable to speak as they approached the diner.

The diner cast shadows on the grass as it glowed dimly in the forest; fairy lights adorned the trees, creating a dreamy atmosphere. It perplexed him why there was a restaurant in the middle of nowhere, but after Hitoshi pointed to a second path, multiple buildings sat beside it, each serving a purpose. Near the path and the diner, large, strange metal-looking objects sat on solid flooring. "It's an isolated town where not much happens and not a lot of people live here. So don't be surprised if you didn't hear it from your house. "

Izuku nodded, following Hitoshi to the front door. "Ready for your first adventure?"

"Um sure, uh, what are those?" Izuku pointed at the metal objects. "And why is this path so big?"

"Oh right, those things are called cars, and the path is called a road. Cars go on the road and travel on it. " Hitoshi explained, reaching out a hand for the handle. He had a sad expression on his face and said, "It's unfair that you don't know things."

Izuku didn't say anything after that.

The two walked inside the door, and he felt his eyes widen; it was his very first room, other than his house. It's now or never. If he backs out now, he can still make it up to his dad. But if he goes in, he will change the rest of his life.

"You coming?" Hitoshi held the door for him, waving a hand inside.

Izuku smiled and nodded. "I am." He stepped inside, crossed the threshold, and closed his eyes. This was it. Things are never going to be the same. He's going to learn things he's never learned before and that will change him and his dad's relationship for the rest of his life.

As much as the thought was overbearing, he didn't feel any different being inside the restaurant. The fact that the restaurant was virtually empty save for a few patrons could have something to do with it. Izuku ran in fear behind Hitoshi. The only attention the people paid was to say "good morning" to each other. Hitoshi courteously echoed it. Izuku followed Hitoshi, but he sensed a powerful tug. His hair got tangled up around a lamp post and a rock as he peered behind him. Izuku hurried outside and pulled on his hair to prevent it from flowing out all over the place. He returned inside and sat down next to Hitoshi in a booth. He was virtually sitting on top of Izuku when he sat next to him. Izuku didn't mind that his thighs were touching; it was soothing. He sighed and clasped his hair.

Hitoshi's face was pure red. "You okay?"

"Yep! Never better, look at these menus! " Hitoshi blurted out, passing a plastic menu with words and pictures of food. "Wow," Izuku's eyes widened, "there are so many."

"Yeah, pick one. I don't have a lot of money on me," Hitoshi explained, pulling out a black wallet from his pocket.

"How did I not see that earlier?" Izuku murmured, eyes narrowing.

"Oh uh, I don't know."

As the two looked at the menu, Hitoshi assisted Izuku with what he wanted to eat and what would be expected. A server (Hitoshi said they were a server) came up with a peppy attitude, something Izuku never knew someone could be. "What do you guys want?" The lady asked with enthusiasm, and it made Izuku slightly flinch. The lady, Hitoshi, whispered to him, saying that she was a girl. He could tell from a mile that she looked oddly different compared to him and Hitoshi. For one, her voice was high-pitched and sweeter. And her body shape was different, she had a bump near her breast.

It amazed him that there could be girls and boys as well, not just boys.

There was also the fact that Izuku placed a protective hand over his hair, eyeing the lady. Hitoshi said it wasn't normal for someone to steal his hair or quirk. Even the word "quirk" was odd. But it made sense; his quirk is his hair. Though, it bugged him that his dad never mentioned it before.
