later in the evening, the sim couple decided to finally go to the place they'd be staying, saying their goodbyes to their children + adopted sons. jieun unpacked her things in jaeyun's room, the boys patiently waiting in the living room as she did so.

ni-ki eventually (loudly) claimed he was "bored" and was gonna "go spend time with my noona" as he quickly sprinted into the room — flying onto the bed before bombarding the girl with irrelevant questions. she couldn't deny how entertained she felt— the boy's energy rubbing off on her, lifting her spirits from the side effects of the jet lag.

a certain boy sat in the living room, trying to play the fact that the girl he'd developed the world's largest crush on was in his home. but how could he keep it cool? the girl he'd developed the world's biggest crush on was in his home!

"are you done unpacking, ji?" jaeyun asked as his eyes caught the girl returning to the living room, where he and the others were watching a movie.

"mhm," she hummed, sitting between him and jungwon.

the action had made both of them a nervous wreck — jieun'd been unnoticeably shaking as she'd done it.

the eldest was apparently the only one who'd caught the pair's reactions to the other, heeseung having to force his smile back at the sight before him.

"the boys are all hungry, we're gonna go and get some food real' quick. you wanna come?" he asked his sister, looking down at her as he played with her hair.

"mm.." she began, contemplating. "no, i'd rather stay here if you'll let me,"

jaeyun simply nodded in agreement, knowing how tired his sister got with any type of trip. "that's fine. jungwon's gonna stay, so you won't be alone," he informed the girl, jieun having to force herself to keep breathing normally.

six of the boys all stood from the couch, bidding goodbyes to be girl and their leader as they walked to get their shoes. jaeyun leaned down to press a kiss on the girl's forehead before he followed the crowd, sending her a small smile which she'd returned.

the girl's eyes followed her older brother, letting out a breath she wasn't aware of once she'd heard the door click.

now, suddenly, the air around her was thick with anxiety. she turned to face the screen once again, eyes focused on the movie as she tried to not squeal over the boy sat right beside her.

it took her a minute to realize he hadn't moved. she glanced down, seeing their thighs touching as his natural scent lingered around her — a small smile appearing on her face.

remembering how close the takeout place was to their dorm — she realized it was now or never to take a shot at getting to know the boy she'd long thought about back home in brisbane.

except now, he was right in front of (beside) her.

"hi," she started if off simple, softly bowing in his direction.

"hello," he kindly replied, returning the action. her eyes landed on his dimple, unable to tear away from it.

"uh.." they both began at the same time, jungwon's cheeks lightly flushing as he gestured for her to speak.

"i actually didn't know what to say," she admitted, a giggle sounding from her lips.

he had to mentally slap himself to not gush over her cute sound. she was just as dreamy as he'd imagined.

"uh.. i was just gonna say you're really good at dancing," he said, the girl's eyes slightly widening at his compliment.

"ah.. the contest, yes. thank you," she said, bowing her head again, thanking him.

something small but mighty came over yang jungwon,

"isn't it a bit awkward to bow to eachother..? let's keep it simple, we are the same age, aren't we?"
