the girl's new uniform was stowed away, hiding in between her and jaeyun's mixed-up clothing in his closet. her and their parents were in the midst of cancelling the girl's flight back home, however some technical issues were getting in the way of completing the task.
her anxieties hadn't gotten the best of her, though, as she knew they'd eventually be able to do it.
jieun spent the first half of the day at the hybe building, wasting time practicing for the highly requested dance covers she'd post later that week. her large following had been quick to recognize the black and brown practice rooms unique to her brother's label, and had their fair shares of freak out sessions when they'd realized the probability of her having met her ult bias, however nothing had been confirmed from either one of the eight parties.
"hey, ji?" the leader asked as he popped his head into a room he figured the girl would be in, however was pleasantly surprised when he came across his hyung in there.
his hyung.. but neither one of his members.
"hi jungwonie," the bambi-eyed male greeted, clicking the red end video button on the girl's signature red phone.
"oh. hi, hyung?" jungwon somewhat questioned, stepping into the room. "i wasn't expecting to find you?"
"oh yeah, i've been in here with jieunie recording covers,"
the boy's eyebrow threatened to twitch from the undeniable anger he felt, however knew he had to play it nice — they weren't even dating yet.
"oh okay!" jungwon replied, now refusing to meet jieun's eyes. she found this weird. he always made sure to make at least a second of eye contact with her when they were in a room together.
the boy found a bench to sit on, his now clear schedule he was planning to fill with time with jieun .. clear again.
the seeming new pair of friends continued their dancing together, however only for fifteen minutes. taehyun could tell jieun had grown tired, the male deciding to call it quits for the day. "rest, jieunie.. we can dance more tomorrow?"
the girl could only nod, waddling her way towards the bench jungwon was sat on. the boy's face was glued to his phone, it seemed like. he had yet to reach for her water bottle.
she shakily bent down to grab the pink-tinted container, raising an eyebrow in confusing as her sight glanced over the boy.
he was still just.. sitting there.
no effort to spark up a conversation, no eye contact, no nothing. it's like she was alone in the room all over again.
"won," she spoke, breaking the tense silence that'd casted over the practice room.
nothing. nothing but silence. she hated silence.
"yang jungwon!" she shouted, the anger evident in her voice.
another thing he'd grown to know and somewhat fear of the girl — she had a bit of a short temper.
the girl ripped the phone from his hands, finally getting him to look her in the eyes. "took you long enough."
"what?" jungwon asked. short.
short and choppy. she hated replies that were short and choppy. it always made her feel like she'd done something wrong.
"what did i do? why are you mad at me?" she liked getting straight to the point. especially when she was mad.
yet another thing he'd grown to know and fear. he hated this part. he hated confrontation.
"nothing."
he'd barely gotten to finish replying, jieun knew it wasn't nothing. "funny. very funny. now tell me what i did so i can apologize and fix it."
she could see how much he didn't want to tell her. she wished she could simply drop her anger and pretend like everything was fine. like his silence didn't bother her. like his lack of searching for her eyes when he'd walked in hadn't bothered her.
but it did. she was so used to it. the light in his eyes made hers sparkle all the brighter. the habits she'd picked up from him in a short amount of time made her feel comfort. she couldn't stand being mad at him, but what else could she do?
he sighed, frustrated with himself, mostly. it wasn't her fault— she was a social butterfly.
but why hadn't she been one when it'd came to him? sure, it was weeks ago— but it took forever for them to finally hang out with eachother. he'd not once heard her mention nor seen her with taehyun— why were they practicing together all of a sudden? she always danced with him, why didn't she wait for him to come out of his lessons?
jungwon was finally able to meet the girl's eyes after being trapped in his thoughts for however long. "it's nothing, ji.. do you have time for a date?"
jieun couldn't help but roll her eyes — as much as he annoyed her sometimes, he was still her favourite boy. she could never say no to a date with him.
