"Ashton?", I said, almost whispering.

His head shoot up after hearing me, giving me the biggest smile he could give, "Irina!" He called, still smiling. But, his smile disappeared as he turn his eyes to Danny. He gave him a frown which Danny replied with a smirk.

He walked to our place, telling the girl he will serve us. "Hey.", he said monotonous, eyeing me and Danny.

"Hi! I didn't know you work here. How are you?", I asked, removing my arm from Danny.

He smiled a little, "I'm good. You?"

"Fine... anyways, this is Danny. The one I told you about. Danny, this is Ashton. He's a friend I met a few days ago.", I introduced them to each other.

They both nodded as they shake each others hand, giving nothing away. What's wrong with these guys?

"Why are you in the mall, anyways?", Ashton asked.

"I just bought some stuff for a camping trip we planned.", I explained. An idea clicked in my mind, "Hey, why don't you come with us in this camping trip? It would be fun. The more, the merrier. Right, Danny?". I looked at Danny whose eyebrows are raising.

I looked at Ashton who shrugged, "I'll ask the boys first. I'll text you."

I smiled as wide as I can. I can be with all my friends in the same place. I can't wait for it to happen.

Ashton quickly served us our drinks after receiving a lot of glare from the customers behind us for holding the line for too long. We sat back on our table and spent the whole afternoon talking to each other with Ashton saying hi randomly when he passes our table.

It turns out Danny has lost his patience and flew to California a few days earlier than Trey and Eli. He said he was planning to surprise me at home but saw me drove out of the gate and followed me. He was following me all throughout my mall trip and laughing his ass out seeing me struggle with the tents. He's a dork sometimes but that really how our friendship is; Laughing at each others struggles and stupidity, and helping out later. He also said Trey and Eli will be here in three days since her mom came home earlier. All good news, then. We could start our vacation earlier.

I just hope Ashton and the boys would come. It would be more fun with them. I hope they would also get along well.

Ashton's POV

I opened the door wanting to get inside as quick as possible and was surprised to see Michael watching movie in the living room. I rolled my eyes at him and threw my bag on the couch as I made my way to the fridge. I need water. Yes, water. Because, at the moment, I am giving off steam.

"Whoa, whoa! What did I do?", Michael asked from the other room. He was leaning on the arm rest of the couch when I came back to the living room, frowning.

I sighed, "Nothing." I flopped down beside him, drinking the cold water to let off steam.

"Did something happen in work? You're fuming, bro.", he said, laughing.

I rolled my eyes again, "Don't even ask, Michael." I collected my bag as Michael threw his hands in the air in defeat, going back to what he's watching, and walk upstairs to my room.

I don't wanna talk to anyone now. Because if I do, I would just snap on them. I felt sorry for Michael, he's not even the reason why I'm mad. Actually, I don't know even know why I'm mad. That pissed me off.

I flopped down my bed and cover my face with a pillow and screamed. Goddamn that Danny! He was smirking at me and acting all boyfriend-y to Irina when he's not even close to being one. Ha! He's a bestfriend, from what I remember. But, that's not the only thing that's infuriating. Irina has her arm around him? Why is that?! I sighed, removing the pillow on my face and sitting up. This day sucks. I started the day with Luke pouring his cereal to me, to being yelled at at work by the manager. I thought the day would get better when I saw Irina at the cashier, but I was wrong.

She even asked me to go camping with them. I sure wouldn't be able to keep my cool when that boy Danny is around, but I don't want to give him the benefit of my absence so he can make his way up to Irina. What should I do now? I sighed again.

Irina's POV

"Are you sure you'll be fine? I can just pick you up, you know.", I said, keeping the phone from slipping with my shoulder as I pour myself a glass of water. "Oh, okay. Have fun. And take care."

Danny was out with some of his friends in downtown. He said he will come home late or just crash at his friend's house, he'll text me. He might be catching up with his old friends. I thought I can finally spend time with the best friend, but oh well. I sighed.

"What am I gonna do now?", I asked myself. Margaret also went out to spend time with her relatives. I have no one to talk to in this huge house. It feels so empty. I sighed again and plopped down the couch. I decided to just watch a movie alone since I am not yet sleepy.

Just as I'm about to click a movie, the doorbell rang. Danny? I ran upstairs to open the door. Finally, a company.

I opened the door widely and spread my arms widely to give Danny a huge hug, "Did you- Oh?" My arms froze in air after seeing who has showed up.

"Hi.", Ashton said, beaming me his huge smile. I put my hands down and smiled back at him. What must he be doing here?

"Hey.", was the only thing I said. I was speechless.

He frowned, "Expecting someone else?"

I blinked at his question, "Uhm, n-no... I'm just surprised to see you.", I lied.

He nodded, "I was in the neighborhood so I decided to see you." He smiled again, bringing a box of pizza and plastic bags up in his chest. "I'm hungry."

"Really? Oh my God, if that was me, I could've punched the guy in the face.", I exclaimed, eating the last piece of pizza I have.

Ashton and I were still watching a movie, or rather, chitchatting while having a movie on the background. He was telling me his experiences as a co-manager for a while now. And honestly, it was all hilarious. And somewhat frustrating.

There's something about Ashton that makes me comfortable around him. His deep dimples whenever he smile or the way he laughs and how hilarious it is or his dirty blond and curly hair. I don't really know.

Is it possible to get this comfortable around someone you just met? Am I really that lacking in friends that I feel desperate to be their friend? Or we just share some kind of commonality that binds us?

I sighed, letting weight off my chest.
