Irina's POV

I don't know what came into Ashton's mind that he asked me about myself. I mean, I'm not interesting at all. And no one has ever asked me that. But he looks at me, waiting for an answer. "About me?", I asked, sounding a bit awkward.

He shrugged, "Yeah."

"Well, uhm...", how do I start. Where do I start? "Can you just ask questions? Then, I'll answer.", I suggested. I really don't know how to answer.

He nodded, "Uhm, tell me about your school?"

"School, huh?", I chuckled lightly. He tilt his head, waiting for me to continue. "Well, I don't really like school, you know. But I like studying."

He chuckled, "Ironic it is. Why don't you like school, then?", he asked.

Should I tell him? I mean, I don't like talking about this part of my life. I sighed, "I was bullied when I was a kid.", I confessed.

His eyes widen and his eyebrows knit, "Oh."

"Yeah. I'm a weird kid, you know. I don't talk that much when I was younger. Everyone avoided me like I have some... contagious illness. They would call me names... Freak, monster, weirdo. I don't know.", I sighed again. This issue has been a sensitive thing for me. "Well, those kids sucked anyways. They only talk about how rich their parents are. And how expensive their toys are. I hated it. They're just kids but they're already talking about money? I don't actually get it. Then, I transferred to a public school when I was in 5th Grade. I liked it there even though it's less nicer than my previous school. I don't mind as long as it's far from the brats I used to call my classmates."

I stood up and took the thongs, flipping all the barbecues. When I looked back at him, he was staring at me, his eyes are sad. He really is listening from what. I see. He's waiting for me to continue.

"Don't you have any friends?", he suddenly asked when I sat back to my seat.

I chuckled, "I do have friends. I made few friends that year I transferred. That made me really happy, you know. I was some lonely kid, eating alone at lunch under a tree. No one wants to share a table with me, so I just ate there when this one kid came and asked if he could eat with me. His name's Danny. Things were awkward at first but he made me laugh for the first time. That's when our friendship started.", I laughed at the memory. Danny and his joke. "I made a few more friends that year, though. They were Trey and Eli."

"I'm glad you have friends... I mean, school can be really hard without friends.", he said, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"How about you?", I asked him. He looked at me, curious as to what I'm asking. "How did you guys met?", I asked him, looking at the three boys enjoying their time in the pool.

He nodded, getting what I was asking, "Oh." He frowned first before answered, "We were orphans.", he said in an almost whisper.

I gasped, "You were what?", not really sure of what I heard.

He chuckled, "Orphans.", he repeated.

I felt my heart clench at what he just said. Who would have thought? These young, happy guys were orphans. I blinked back the tears that were starting to build. I felt sad for them. I don't really have a strong heart and this kind of things makes me cry easily. "I'm sorry.", I said, looking down.

Ashton tilted my chin up, taking me by surprise. He looked at my eyes and I blinked, tears brimming on my eyes. He smiled at me, "Hey. Don't cry. Those beautiful eyes doesn't deserve to cry."

I giggled at what he said and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand. What he said made me blush but I looked away so he won't notice. "I'm sorry... I-I just.", I stuttered, not really knowing what to say.
