Wren knew this wasn't going to be easy. Going on this journey, she just hoped she would win against Daeva. Unlike that witch, Wren saw a chance of peace where Daeva a chance of opportunity. Wren could tell just from seeing how Daeva talked with the Troblins that she had no interest in them what so ever. She didn't think she would ever get why they bowed down to Daeva. It was clear she only helped them for the power and glory. These thoughts made Wren sick. Especially knowing that Omnipotens wanted to drink her blood. Ajowan led the dragons, and none of them said a word. They all looked stern and serious, way different from how they looked before, constantly bickering and fighting. It seemed they knew this matter was extremely serious. The protectors of the world, banished by man, coming back to protect their land again. Wren climbed on Ajowan and held onto his long brown horns.
"If I must say something, all the golem children are being held by the Troblins." Cardithas scaredly replied from Zaatar's back.
"Yeah, and knowing the golems, they're definitely on their way to Gurr." Wren replied.
"Then we'll have help. Not like we need it anyway." Ajowan said, still overly confident about everything.
The dragons all looked very majestic, and Cassia swooped in with Anna and Xavier on her back. Wren instantly knew her mother knew what had happened, and they held hands, not saying a word, but thinking about what they could do to stop their land from dying. One thing Wren knew for sure, Daeva was insane.
The dragons flew past grassy hills with golems grazing and tiny faeries in the trees, their wings like lanterns shining in the blue sky. The peacefulness of it all made Wren even more determined. She wasn't going to lose this land. Soon, the hills disappeared and turned into a scorching hot desert, indicating they were close to Gurr. The dragons swooped down and Wren slid off Ajowan. Daeva was waiting outside with a million Troblins. At least Wren assumed there were a million.
"Wren, I always knew you were too weak. So you had to bring all your weird dragon friends with you."
"Like you're one to talk. There's your Troblin army right behind you."
"Tonight is the night of the Valhalre, Wren. Did you know that?"
"Of course I did, you idiot."
" Which means after I beat you, the whole kingdom will be mine!" Daeva shouted, laughing. The Troblins stared at her in disbelief.
"I mean, yours." She looked nervous, knowing the Troblins could kill her if she made one wrong move.
"So, how shall we do this?" Wren asked, but the end of her sentence was drowned out by large footsteps. Golems 20 feet tall were stomping their way into Gurr, hungry for revenge. The Troblins were a bit stupid to anger such a strong creature. The Golems were usually a peaceful race, frolicking in the fields of Gallosh by themselves, but when something so important like their offspring was threatened, they could do serious damage. It was also why Cardithas's mother attacked Wren. With such a broken world, there was no one to trust. Wren immediately gave Cardithas back to his mother when she saw her, who bowed her head, saying thank you to Wren and hoisting him onto his shoulder. Cardithas waved bye to Wren as the Golems advanced on the underground kingdom.
"Oh no, the shard! It'll get stomped!" Wren had a sudden thought and took off running for Gurr. She had no idea she was going to get there, but she had a gut feeling as she weaved through the many tunnels and turns. No doubt Daeva and her minions were behind her, but Wren wasn't about to look back. The walls were caving in and crumbling around her. Suddenly, she saw a glimmer up ahead. A piece of rock came tumbling down and she dove under as the exits were blocked. The scorching sun shone on the dirt inside, and Wren looked up to see a gaping hole uncovering the room for the world to see. She gazed into the purple glistening rock, stunned at how it hypnotised her. Troblins banging on the rocks brought her out of her trance as she struggled to grab the shard. Thymol and Thyme swooped in to the rescue, two dark green twin dragons that had telekinesis as their abilities. Thyme picked up the shard with his mind while Wren climbed out of the hole. But she sensed the fight wasn't over yet. Suddenly, the Troblins broke down the wall as Daeva rushed forth and grabbed Wren by her foot, dragging her down into the room. Once the shard was removed from its pedestal, what it was standing on melted into the lava as it consumed the room slowly. Wren quickly drew her sword.
"Just surrender, Daeva! You know this isn't worth it. How could you do this to your own kingdom?"
"Because I've never cared for the stupid human kingdoms out there! All of them are a bunch of filth. The 'kindness' they've shown to me taught me all I need to know about them!" Daeva yelled.
"So you plan to kill them all? You don't belong with these Troblins. AND YOU NEVER WILL!" Wren snapped, sick of this madness. She charged and took a blow at Daeva's sword. Daeva striked back and tried to sweep the leg, but Wren put her foot on the sword.
"Sweeping the leg isn't a thing in sword fighting. If you stuck around with Aasimar, you would know that!"
"Oh, well, guess what else isn't a thing in sword fighting? This!" Daeva chanted something under her breath, stuck her hand out and a burst of energy knocked Wren across the room, almost sending her tumbling into the lava. The Troblins watched in shock as the two duelled.
"Bet you weren't expecting that, huh?" Daeva said. "I may have dabbled in dark magic after you so kindly rejected me." Daeva's eyes turned black and she looked monstrous.
"I won't let you get away with this! Don't you know what you're doing? You're- you're killing magical creatures so you can benefit off of them. Was that your plan all along with the shard?"
"Well, I suppose it was. With the Jewn or whatever you call those weird disgusting creatures full of magic being gone, all their delightful magic would be MINE!" Daeva laughed.
"ITS JULE, YOU IDIOT!" Wren charged once again and pinned Daeva to the ground.
"THIS IS FOR AASIMAR, THE JULE, THE RYU DRAGONS, AND ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE OR CREATURES YOU HAVE HURT!" Wren took her sword and was about to chop off her neck, but like before, a Troblins jumped in front of the sword. His body lie limp on the floor.
"HAHAHA! YOU LOSE, AND I LIVE ANOTHER DAY!" She seemed awfully happy. Daeva got up and tossed the body into the lava. "Slimy disgusting little thing." She gagged. "Now, where were we?"
