Angelique's back was pressed against her bedroom wall as she stared at Terrell's body. She couldn't believe that she shot him, and she couldn't see through her tears because she was crying so hard. Momentarily, she heard knock on the door. As she walked towards the door, the knocking turned from knocking into beating. "Police! Open the door." A male's voice on the other end yelled through the door.
Angelique tipped toed towards the door because she knew that once she opened the doors, her freedom was up. She wiped the tears from her eyes before opening the door. The two police officers both had their guns drawn. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you." One police officer said pinning her to a wall and cuffing the handcuffs on her.
"Ted, back here!" The other police officer yelled.
Angelique was forced to the bedroom door to watch the police examine Terrell's body. "Why isn't there any blood?" Ted asked.
Terrell began coughing as he began to open his eyes and push himself off the floor. Angelique's heart must've skipped a beat. "Sir, are you alright?" The other police officer asked.
Terrell sucked in a large gust of air slightly wincing at the pain in his chest. "Yeah, I'm good." Terrell forced himself up from the floor and found himself making eye contact with a sorry Angelique.
"Do you wish to press charges or for us to take her down to the station?"
Terrell didn't say anything, but instead, he shook his head. The police uncuffed Angelique, and walked out of the condo. The neighbors must've called the police when they heard a gunshot then cussing. "Am I talking to the real Angelique?" Terrell asked pulling off his shirt revealing a black bulletproof vest.
Angelique nodded her head.
Terrell was furious. He stepped closer to Angelique and just stared her in the eyes. He couldn't believe that this girl tried to basically commit murder. Angelique felt a stinging on her right cheek as Terrell's hand went across the face. A painful yell escaped her. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry." She cried sliding down the wall and sitting with her knees pressed to her chest. She was scared of what Terrell would do next.
