It has been around 20 minutes in the car. There is a silence in the car but it isn't awkward. Remy is once again the one driving. Maverick sits in the passenger seat making multiple phone calls. I can't hear what he is saying since he is muttering. I look to my right to see Ymir sitting against the window staring outside at all the different trees and buildings passing by in the distance. I sit patiently as I fidget with my fingers thinking of where we could be heading.
We near a parking lot.
A hospital parking lot.
"Boss, there aren't any parking spots. I'll park so you can go ahead. Please call me when you're done. I'll pick you up by the front gate." Remy advises.
"Mmhmm" Maverick mumbles
He seems pissed
Maverick turns his head and gives us a look with his eyes signaling we could get out of the car.
We all exit the car. Ymir and I stood next to Maverick as he walks towards the front gate of the hospital.
"This is what happens when you don't listen to people who are smarter than you" he mutters as he rolls his eyes.
"What?" I question, confused about what he was talking about.
Ymir glances me a confused look as well.
"Oh nothing, just talking to myself" he smiled.
What type of fake smile is that, if only you could see your face right now. You look as if you want to yell at someone and then give them a hug right after.
We walk to the front desk. Ymir and I give Maverick some space by stepping back so he can talk to the receptionist.
"What if we're visiting a big mafia boss here at the hospital?" Ymir asks out of the blue.
"Huh?" I question. I had completely zoned out so I didn't hear anything she asked.
"What if he knows all sorts of martial arts. And he beat up 100 men all by himself and that's why he ended up here. And what if he randomly attacks us because he gets annoyed with kids or something like that. Luna, we need to get ready to run if something like that happens." Ymir lectures me
"Don't worry, I highly doubt that, and even if you were right, he would be in a hospital for an injury and Maverick is also there with us" I say confidently
"Let's go" Maverick turns back to us as he stops leaning against the desk. "It's room 113," he says as he reads a small slip the front receptionists gave him.
We head to the room. Well, it's more like Ymir and I following Maverick around. It was as if he was used to the layout of this hospital.
Ymir looks at all the doors lined up looking for room 113.
"This one" he points to a big wooden door with the words "Rm: 113" stamped onto a plastic plate next to the door.
"Are you okay with us entering?" Ymir asks with a tone that sounds like she wants the answer to be no.
"Ya....I wanted you two to meet them soon anyways...wasn't planning it to be a hospital though" he chuckled.
He can still chuckle, maybe things aren't that bad
Maverick took a deep breath before turning the door knob. Ymir and I held our breaths. What if it really was a big mafia boss. We didn't want to end up fighting one just yet. We were still too young to die.
"Maverickkkk" a female voice exclaimed. The voice sounds childish as if they are between 11-14. I can't tell.
Ymir and I haven't entered yet. We both stick our ears out to listen to them speak.
"Heyy what took you so long" the girl spoke again.
"ZOE! Are you crazy??? You had one simple job. I told you to distract two guards while our men took care of the rest. I allowed you to be out on the battlefield for the first time. BUT THEN YOU DECIDE TO STAB ONE OF THE GUARDS???" Maverick shouted.
So her name is Zoe
"I can explain-" the female spoke.
"No, you can't!" Maverick says harshly. "You decided to just stab a man just because you felt like it"
"That's not true and you know it...wait..someone is at the door I think someone followed you here," the girl says lowering her voice.
How did she hear us??
"You guys can come in," Maverick says, turning his head as he rubs his temples with his hand.
We walk in slowly. We make our way next to Maverick who is sitting on a chair. Next to the chair, there was a bed with a girl on it.
She peeked her head out since Maverick was blocking her from our view.
