Maybe you should've considered that there were shippers who were reincarnated in this book and are trying to get their characters together. Maybe you shouldn't have acted earlier if you knew you were about to get yourself kidnapped by a maid who dragged you into a storage room, holding a candle, and a face of immeasurable anger.

Maybe you should've thought about those. . .

The maid who's currently confronting you is a ginger-haired girl with cat-like forest green eyes, and healthy peach skin with freckles dabbed over her cheeks and over the bridge of her nose, curls of ginger hair framing her face as it was tied in a bun. She was cute if she wasn't looking at you as if you murdered Queen Elizabeth.

You only looked at her with blank indifference, hands and to the extension arms bound by a white cloth you were sure was one of the curtains, as you sat on the chair you were forced in. "You kidnapped me from my duty of preparing her highness's daily snacks to berate for not letting the story go on its own accord and not acting in character?"

"Yes!" she screamed, tugging her hair in frustration - thankfully she put down the candle - as she gritted her teeth. "You're ruining the plot! You're taking away the spotlight from Stella and as a result-! Getting a harem that was supposed to be hers!"

"The heck are you talking about? I'm not creating a harem or anything."

"Then explain that servant boy, Liam, who seems to follow you like a puppy!?"

"He always had a crush on the original (Y/N) so don't be surprised if he's softer to me."

"Commander Cole-!"

"Sparing and paring buddy."

"You're even oblivious like those protagonists! What do you think you are!? The main character of a web novel!? You're basically becoming those protagonists of those web novels who change the story they're reincarnated into for their own benefit and in the process, get a harem! Do you know how frustrating and unforgiving that is to an ultimate fan of this story!"

"Uhuh," you replied nonchalantly. "Very. So frustrating. Devastating. So tragic to the point that I don't care."

"Your use of sarcasm is very annoying yet effective."

You rolled your eyes, taking this pointless talk as an opportunity to undo the knot of the rope around you. "So you just want me, another reincarnated person, to be a good little actor to play this world's (Y/N) and follow according to the book's prediction for the benefit of Stella and not my own?"

The ginger-haired maid, Ella, opened her mouth to protest before she closed it. ". . .If you put it that way, it'll make it seem bad."

"No shit you delusional bitch." you bit with tired irritation. Seriously, has she ever thought of it like that before?

"But still!" Ella persist with hands on her hips as she stared down at you. "Stella's romance and development should flourish and the story should come to its original ending! I don't want a side character - reincarnated or not - to ruin that!"

You felt the cloth loosen a bit as you replied. "Oh great, PTSD for Stella. Good for her." Please cue the sarcasm.

"It's for her development!"

"And will affect her life for who knows how long."

Ella gritted her teeth. "Why can't you be a good side character and play your part!"

SMACK

You had undone the knot, and the moment those words were spouted out, you immediately stood up and slapped her across the cheek. Anger pumped your heart as the hand that slapped the maid shook with the emotion, you stared down at the girl with incomprehensible anger. How dare she tell you what to do. How dare she tell you how to act.

"It seems you don't understand, Ms. Ella." your voice was tight with anger as you watched the fear starting to register in her body as she shakily turn to face you, pupils shrank with panic as they shook, her skin draining of color till she was pale. Her voice stuttered in small hiccups as you stepped closer, your dominant arm back at your side as you stopped when you were chest to chest.

In a swift movement, you grabbed her face by the lower part with your pointer finger and thumb, bringing it closer to your face as you stared death in the eye. "I am not the (Y/N) from this world, and I'll never be her or replace her. " you dug your fingernails into the skin of her cheeks as you felt the anger in you get tighter. " I'll never follow the destiny or the fate that was written for this character, no matter how many people will tell me, I will create my own path. That leaves you no right to tell me how to act, who to benefit, and what I am. Got it?"

"G-Got it!" she whimpered.

"Good," you let her go, walked past, and opened the door. "And one more thing," you glanced at Ella, who fell to the ground. "If I were creating a harem, just so you know it's unintentional and unwanted."

With a swing of the door, you left.
