02. A PSYCHO IN THE CAR

- HANEUL, JAY AND RIKI -
- MIYOUNG, JAKE, JUNGWON AND SUNOO -

"There is no way that you are going to get me in the trunk! There's no way I'm going to sit there. You don't even have a seat belt in there," Riki whined as the seven people walked toward the school parking lot.

Jay, who was walking in front of the group, stopped, causing the rest of the group to stop as well. He turned to the others and looked at Riki. "Do you think Haneul likes being in the trunk too?" He asked annoyed at Riki's behavior. Riki said nothing more, fell completely silent. "That's what I thought," Jay rolled his eyes as he turned around again and continued walking.

There was no way around it now. There are only 5 actual seats in the car and the rest have to go in the trunk, otherwise we all won't fit. Jay and Sunoo in the front behind the wheel and in the passenger seat and Jake, Jungwon and Miyoung in the back seat, leaving Haeun and Riki no choice but to sit in the trunk.

"Why can't those other crazies get in the trunk? We're your friends, Jay!" Haneul shouted down the hallway. "This is completely ridiculous!"

"Oh well just shut up for once!" Miyoung yelled back. "The spots are already divided. So go ahead and whine, pathetic bi-"

"MIYOUNG!" Jake gave Miyoung a hard punch. "We do need to keep them friendly because otherwise they won't take us in their car later."

Haneul rolled her eyes and didn't pay attention to the people in her path, so she suddenly bumped into someone causing her to fall to the ground. "Ouch," She said as she rubbed her forehead.

She looked up at the person she had bumped into. The other 6 people also turned towards Haneul. Miyoung widened her eyes when she saw who it was and quickly hid herself behind Jake. Jake was confused why.

"Watch out!" The girl Haneul had bumped into said angrily. Her friends behind her stared at Haneul as if they wanted to kill her. "Don't you have eyes in your head?" The girl asked looking up at the others and starting to laugh. "You and your friends are really a bunch of losers."

"Hyewon shut up!" Someone yelled, a girl, but it there were no other girls around except Haneul and Miyoung. Haneul was silent, so....

Miyoung stepped away behind Jake, completely fed up with the behavior of her old best friends. Hyewon widened her eyes when she saw Miyoung appear. "What are you doing here..."

Miyoung put a fake smile on her face. "Having fun with my friends. And since when did you leave that hospital for psyschopaths?"

"Pyschopaths?" Jungwon and Sunoo asked at the same time, shocked.

Hyewon gave Miyoung a judging look full of disgust. "And why do you have the audacity to ask such a thing?"

One of Hyewon's friends put his hand on her shoulder. "Calm down," he said to reassure her. "I'm sure it wasn't this girl's intention to hit you."

"Yeah yeah, whatever," Hyewon said as she rolled her eyes. "So I heard from way down the hall that you guys are going on a road trip in that handsome guy's car back there," The girl continued as she pointed at Jay. "Where is that trip going, handsome?"

Jay frowned his eyebrows. "Ew." He said shortly and coldly.

"We're getting out of this shitty town," Jake just answered Hyewon's question.

Hyewon quickly gave a look to Jake, an angry one. "I didn't ask you, but I want to join you." She said as she turned to her two friends. "What do you guys think, Heeseung and Sunghoon? Do you guys want to come?"

The two boys gave a look at each other before nodding. "Fine," Heeseung replied.

"Who are you guys to decide that?" Jay asked as he raised his eyebrow. "It's my car, so my rules so I decide who goes in my car or not."

Hyewon pouted her lips and shrugged. "I have money."

"You and your friends can come along but you will be required to sit in the trunk," Jay agreed, allowing three more people to travel with him. Everyone widened their eyes and looked at Jay. He looked at them innocently and shrugged. "She has money..."

"I can't believe you let Hyewon and her friends come along in that car. Miyoung told me that she had killed her cat and made sure she was hit by a car! Do you really want a pyschopath like that in your vehicle?" Haneul called out to Jay, who were both standing a little distance away from the rest.

Jay blinked his eyes a few times before chuckling in disbelief and shaking his head. "Maybe she's really nice and a plus is that she has money. We can buy painkillers for you and cigarettes for me to satisfy our needs," he said.

Haneul scoffed and rolled her eyes. She turned her head to the others. Miyoung and Hyewon were distancing themselves from each other while Riki somehow found a way to get along well with the other boys.

Both friends fell silent for a moment, not looking at each other. Haneul bit her lower lip as Jay sat cracking his knuckles.

"Let's just go, but if we get bothered by that crazy bitch you can't tell me anything but I'll throw her out of the car," Haneul said angrily as she stomped back to the others.

Jay froze in place and watched Haneul stomp angrily. He sighed before slowly walking behind the girl, back to the group.

Perhaps Haneul was right. Maybe it's not convenient to take a psychopath who has been in a asylum for the insane into your own car...

"What an old shitty car," Heeseung said as he gave it a small slap with his flat hand. "Looks like my grandfather's from the eighties."

"It's my dad's car from the eighties..." Jay said, causing Heeseung to eventually fall completely silent.

"Asshole," Sunghoon whispered in Heeseung's ear.

Jay opened the car and everyone immediately got in. The three new ones, Haneul and Riki in the trunk, the four friends except Sunoo in the back seat and Sunoo in the passenger seat with Jay behind the wheel.

The owner of the car started the engine and looked in the rearview mirror at the rest. "Are the people in the back seat wearing their seat belts?"

Everyone nodded, causing Jay to focus on the road and speeding out of the school parking lot.

From now on, there was no turning back. Let's make it the summer of our lives. (Even if there is a pyscho in the car.)
