Previously:
Izuku trained Toshi and then turn into cat which Shouta resisted to pet. Then they were grocery shopping. At home Izu acts weird so Sho gave him his scarf to tell him what was on his mind- Izuku was worried once Shouta doesn't have casts he won't be coming over anymore. Then they had a moment which Izuku ruined. Izu went to patrol and when he came back, he was angry, hurt and sad for unknown reason. Shouta took care of him and fell asleep with Broccoli in his arms.
LAST LINES:
Problem child finally relaxed when Shouta laid down on a couch with him and warped them in a warm and fluffy blanket. The hero petted him and stroked his fur, which made the cat fall asleep not long after that.Shouta closed his eyes and couldn't help but sighed.
I am so doomed.
.................................................................
Building before him wasn't anything special, it was quite the opposite. Someone could even point out that a strong wing could make most of it flew away or that some random dude could just punch the wall and it would crumble... and they wouldn't be far from truth. Windows were mostly shattered, replaced by wooden planks. It looked like an abounded place that only ghosts would hunt, yet there was no doubt about life occupying its rooms.
Building before him wasn't anything significant, just like the rest of this part of Mustafu city.
Functional or how someone would call them "normal" citizens avoided this place like a poop on a sidewalk. And if they step in here? Then it was by a mistake and they would do anything to get that shit off them or in this case- get away from it.
But those who were "not normal" were forced to accept this and make it their own. Drug dealers, gangsters, villains, homeless, prostitutes and all kinds of dysfunctional members of society saw this area as their home, hideout, workplace.
The police, government or heroes never really bothered to change anything. Most of them pretended that this ugly side-effect of their leadership doesn't exist. Yeah, some underground heroes patrolled here, occasionally a police officer showed up, but none of them styed for long. They didn't want to dive deeper even when they knew that oh so many wanted criminals hides under these crappy and full of holes roofs. That's why when they actually come here looking for something or someone, they never succeed. They didn't belong here. They didn't understand and didn't want to understand.
Izuku jumped from the roof into an alley where few people laid on carboard and covered themselves by newspapers. He walked past them without a second glance and entered empty main street. From there he opened the doors into beforementioned building.
The cracking sound spread through long hallway. There was no need to be stealthy since during his way towards the stairs he passed apartments without front doors and here people ALWAYS sleep with one eye open- ready to defend themselves.
He saw some groups around a little fire in bin. Some of those strangers snoozed, ignored him or gave him unwelcome glare.
Did that feel nostalgic? Unfortunately...
He walked up to second floor where apartments were separated from outsider's eyes, but sadly not ears. He could hear different noises through these paper-like walls as he passed each flat.
Would someone hear us? Listen to us? Will I be able to make it all quiet?
Thankfully it seemed everyone was occupied- they snored, fucked, laughed or whatever that weird sound was. And if someone would spy on them? Then he was more than glad that he made sure not to be recognised as Izuku or Sixy.
