7| First Day!

Ruhi-

"Chaitanya! Get the hell out of the bathroom. I woke up before you. How dare you trick me?"

And there he was laughing his ass off under the shower.

In a few minutes he came back wearing a blue trouser and towel hung around the shoulder, smirking at me. Not to forget his broad chest, toned abs, muscular arms and messy wet hairs shining his face with the perfect jawline trimmed beard making him look more ho.... No! Don't complete that.

"Liked what you see?"

"Seen better than you" I retorted, rolling my eyes.

"Indeed! A girl stammering to simply say one night stand might have really seen the bare body figure," he chuckled, wearing a formal white shirt.

My face was flustered hearing him.

"Shu...shut-up!" meekly I warned him.

I suddenly remembered what he did a few minutes before.

"Don't you ever dare to trick me for such petty things" I yelled at him.

"Exactly! That was such a petty thing and you are still thinking about it?" he whispered, getting closer to me.

"No...Nope" I stuttered due to the increasing closeness between us.

This is the exact thing he did a few minutes before. He distracted me and went to the bathroom before me.

"Chaitanya, you do have a girlfriend. So behave yourself. I won't appreciate you getting closer to me. Don't cross the boundary." I sternly warned him.

Soon his expression changed into the cold one. Without saying anything he took his phone and went out of the room.

It was my first day as a daughter-in-law. I was super nervous but thanks to mom, Chaitanya's mom, she helped me to adjust and cook a sweet dish for everyone.

"Wow, Ruhi! This smells amazing."

"Thanks, Mom! Because of you I was able to make this dish," saying this I hugged her.

So today, I made a sweet dish, Gajar ka Halwa as a ritual followed by most of the Indian family.

"Mmm! This smells amazing Bhabhi!" Anshu, my sister-in-law, complimented me.

"Thankyou Anshu, Hope you like it!" thanking her, I serve Halwa to everyone in a bowl.

"This is Yummy, Ruhi! I hope I get to eat this often." Dhruv grinned while eating.

"Ruhi, Come here Beta!" Dad called me. "Take this as a gift from me. It was indeed the best Halwa I ever had." saying this he handed a necklace set to me which I denied because it was quite expensive.

"Never Deny the gifts from us. It's Shagun and we offer you with love. So take this." Dad patted my head, handing the set.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you," I said, taking his blessings.

Meanwhile, Chaitanya didn't even glanced or complimented my dessert. It's fine Ruhi, don't mind him.

Soon he finished his breakfast and left for the office, not giving a chance for anyone to stop him.

Everyone sighed and Dhruv left behind me.

"Ruhi, Give sometime to Chaitanya. I'm sure that he will come back around you. It's new for Him and I won't lie that he was kind of forced in this. But don't worry he will soon realise what kind of jem he has in his life. We are glad that you came in our life." Mom said kindly, caressing my hair.

I was quite overwhelmed with emotions. I was Betraying them by hiding about the contract and they have utmost faith in me. The guilt was consuming me. A lump formed in my throat. Not having the voice to cajole them, I simply nodded looking down.
