chapter 9: Just trust Cade

Mackenzie's pov

"What was the vision?" I ask Cade.
Riely yawns, "As interested I am in this story, I'm really tired. Can we not finish this tomorrow maybe ... Is it even tomorrow yet?"

"I think Riely is right. We could continue this story tomorrow" Kyle says, agreeing with Riely.
Josh agrees too, leaving me. Everyone looks at me.
"Mackenzie" Riely states.
"Ughhh, fineeee!!" I almost scream.
"Come on Kenz, you need to rest! " She says standing up from her seat.
" Wait what was the point in this whole vision thing? " I ask.

" No one knows what was in the vision. Only the princesses before you knew. The only way for you to know what the vision is if you connect with the moonlight stones power. " Kyle says seriously.

" Okay then, where's the stone? "

"No one knows where the stone is." Cade answers.

"NO ONE KNOWS WHERE THE STONE IS!!!!! "

Riely covers her ears for the 10th time.
"GOD KENZI STOP SHOUTING!"

"BUT HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT WAS IN THE VISION IF WE DONT HAVE THE STONE??! HOW DO YOU EVEN LOSE THE STONE??!"

"Mackenzie Lopez can we please try doing this again tomorrow, I'm really tired" Riely says facing the other side of the room.

" I just don't understand any of this. Why is all these things happening, how do we save ourselves if I can't get to the stone? " I ask her.

" Just trust Cade, he said he knows what his doing didn't he? " Riely asks facing me now.

" Yeah but... "

" Kenzie, just trust Cade. " She says.
I smile at her and she smiles back.

I open my eyes.
I remember going to sleep on a bed, what am I doing on the grass?
"Mackenzie!" I hear someone calling for me, I look up. Fire. There's fire everywhere. I stand up quickly but as soon as I stand up, I'm not on the grass anymore. I look around and I'm in a house. A big house. It has so much paths and halls.
"Mackenzie!" That voice again.
I try to follow the voice in a random path and I'm running and running. When I look again I'm in a room. I look around the room. Theres a bed, a sofa, and many other things, the wall color is a shade of white and grey, and a painting on the wall. I walk to the painting and stop right infront of it.
It's a painting of woman in a bright red ball gown. She's pretty. She has hazel-brown eyes and bright red lips. Her hair looks long curly and smooth, and it's the color of the moonlight. She has a crown on her head.
There's a writing at the bottom. I go closer to read it.
' PRINCESS LINA HIDALGO'

I wake up with Riely shaking me.
"Uhggggggg, Seriously Riely!" I say turning the other way.

"Come on idiot, Cade is waiting for us" she says. Hearing Cades name I open my eyes.

"Why is Cade waiting for us?" I ask her curiosity getting the better of me.

She rolls her eyes and throws a dress my way. Ow.
" He's going to feed us food, so I suggest you get up and get dressed into that dress please" she looks at me and flutters her eyes. I nod her way and she smiles.
"Okay I'll be in the breakfast room, Kyles taking me. Cade said he'll  come and fetch you in 5, so get done" she says as she leaves the room.
I lift the dress up to see it's an off shoulder knee length red plain dress. Red. Reminds me of my dream.

I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth. I put the dress on and the put my hair in a high pony tail. I look at myself in the mirror and no doubt the dress looks good on me, but seeing myself in a red dress reminds me of the dress Lina was wearing in the painting of my dream.

Just as I leave the bathroom and put on my white sneakers I wore yesterday, there's a knock at the door.

I finish putting my sneakers on, then I approach the door. I open it and Cade is standing there. He looks me up and down and then smiles. I lean against the door.

"Good morning Mackenzie" he says with that charming smile of his.

"Why hello there, Caden" I say smiling too. I don't know for how long we stand like that, just looking in each other's eyes when my stomach begins to protest.
Cade hears it and chukkles. I roll my eyes at him.
"Shall we" he says offering his arm. I take it and we walk and talk about random things.

But my dream is still stuck in my head. I've had that same dream over and over for most of my life, but I've never gotten as close to that painting as I got tonight let alone even took a step forward to see that painting. It was all meant to happen wasn't it. If Cade didn't tell us about Lina Hidalgo, would I have ever gotten as close to that painting as I did or would it have forever been a mistery?

Did I just have a connection with princess Lina Hidalgo or was it just a dream?
